“perfect place to stay in a truly picturesque town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2009

We have just spent three nights celebrating our one year anniversary at the Beach House and it was magic!
Craig and Sally were truly perfect hosts and made us feel really welcome, they were so friendly and could not do enough for us - even gave us a chilled bottle of Champagne on arrival with the most delicious home-made Lemon Slice!
Every morning the breakfasts are superb, its worth coming just for the home-made museli and rhubarb!! ITS AMAZING!! Everything is so delicious and the organic fresh produce is bought from the local farmers markets..which are great - and a nice touch.
The rooms are tastefully decorated and relaxing with balconies overlooking the beautiful Albany coast, there are heated towel rails in the bathroom, a spa in the room and big fluffy white robes.
Every afternoon after a day of sightseeing, you return to the smiling faces of Craig and Sally, eager to enquire about your day, then to return to your room that has been cleaned and a treat left! ...every day it was something different, home made muffins or brownies which was a fabulous surprise and always delicious!
(not forgetting the port and chocolates everyday too - great touch!).
The beach is amazing and only about 100 steps (if that) away, and very easy to get to down the bottom of the road. It does not take long to walk to the end of the beach where there are coffee shops and a seafood restaurant that also sells take aways and ice creams, and a kids playground. You can even lend bikes for the day! (and for any keen golfer - they will hire you a set of clubs for the golf course that is less than 50m away!)
There is a library at the beach house with a large assortment of books and also a great selection of dvd's to watch on the plasma TV in your room!
The main part of town (port side) is only a small drive away, although we noticed that many locals jogged around, along a beautiful footpath alongside the coast that offeres great views and photo opportunities!
We had a fabulous time and can't wait to return.. hopefully it wont be too long!

While the location isn't perfect as it is a little way from the nearest beach and Albany itself - the quality of the accommodation is first class. The hosts are welcoming and the rooms are very well fitted out with excellent bed linen. The highlight of our stay were the breakfasts - perfectly poached eggs plus asparagus a delight! There were a number of options plus daily specials so we were spoilt for choice and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay. They are expensive but worth the indulgence.

Beautiful hotel. My Partner took me away for the weekend. The weather in Albany was quite cold, luckily we had the spa room!!! Amazing breakfast, very clean and it makes a difference to stay in a 5 star boutique hotel like this because the finishing touches (port and chocolates outside your room and afternoon tea delivered on arrival) make it so much more personal than a big 5 star hotel where you seem to get lost amongst other guests.

Highly recommended for a couple on a get away.

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. It is a little strange to be staying in what is essentially a residential area beside a golf club but that doesn't take away from the high standards of everything on offer.
Location is quiet, with a 2 minute walk to Middleton Beach and a 8 minute drive into town. Close to Emu Beach - 2 mins.

We arrived at about 1.00pm and were able to get our room at once. The very helpful gentleman chatted to us and gave us a very useful map on which he circled things we might like to see and cafes/restaurants we might want to call into. We did more or less all he had recommended and found it all great.

We were in a colonnade room and this is adjacant to the main reception/lounge area. I think there were 4 rooms in this area. Lovely room with nice furnishings, a small balcony, a really great bathroom which is sort of open plan to the bedroom - at least via the jacuzzi. Heated towel rail, nice toiletries etc. Bedroom has well stocked fridge/mini bar. TV and DVD, tea/coffee making. They leave scrummy home made afternoon tea buns in the room each afternoon so that you can have at your own time with your tea/coffee if you want. Also, outside the room is a decanter of port and 2 glasss and a couple of chocs for you in the evening. Downstairs there is a good DVD library and lots of books and magazines.

Breakfast is superb with a range of cooked to order hot dishes which are beautifully presented and delicious. Cereals/fruit/ breads etc are on a sideboard. I loved the rhubarb and berries. The breakfast room is a bright and airy room facing a terrace area with a small fountain and 2 lemon trees in pots. This whole area had an Italian feel. We enjoyed leisurly brekkies with the papers.

One night we had arranged for a platter in the room and this was also delicious with thick home cooked ham, cheeses, asparagus, olives, rolls etc Well worth it.

All in all a lovely stay and a great base from which to explore the Albany area.

We found this place to be a small gem. The owners were really informative and polite especially the man and his daughter. We had a large room with a spa and you can swivel the tv around so you can watch dvd's whislt having a spa, we loved this. They offer a small room service menu but would highly reccomend the ploughmans platter and they also bake fresh afternoon tea and bring it to your room. All the little additions make it so good. The bed was very comfy and huge. Breakfast which was included was amazing and we would recommend the creamed honey to have with your toast, so good. Would love to visit again someday but lots of other places to try.

We were lucky enough to win a competition with two nights stay included.
What a fantastic place. The staff is great. Most helpful knowlegeable and accomodating. The room and bathroom amazing, but the breakfast just tops it all off.
Very close to the beach for early morning or late evening strolls.
Its a little out of Albany so a car is definitely required.

We stayed for five nights in early September to explore Albany and surrounds. Beautiful rooms, very clean and well appointed. Fantastic fresh breakfast included. We like to have a good breakfast then go out and explore for the day so it suited us perfectly. We'd return home to some afternoon tea left for us and a port night cap. Very nice. We had a spa room which was lovely, with the spa overlooking the bedroom which I thought was nice and made it feel spacious. The hosts are very welcoming and have found the perfect balance between leaving you alone and catering to any needs. If you'd like somewhere quiet and relaxing, right near the beach for a good morning walk then you'll love it there. We're looking forward to going back!
