Horrible experience- it says pet friendly but beware not all are pet friendly so they will remove your belongings while you are gone if they are not happy... And then they will charge you for the night even if you clearly explain how it says pet friendly everywhere except apparently a small place on their website in brackets...

This guest booked a 3 night stay but failed to mention that she wanted to bring her 2 dogs and leave them locked inside the cottage whilst she went out for the day (one puppy was in a cage without water and with the heating on). They had also been on the sofas and shed dog hair and saliva throughout the cottage. After discovering the dogs we made many attempts over 4 hours to contact the guest, by which time we had removed the dogs for their own well being. We also removed the guests belongings as her actions were in direct contravention of our occupancy terms and conditions. This allowed us to thoroughly clean and prepare the cottage for potential resale and therefore refund. We also provided her with other options to board the dogs and continue her holiday or move to another cottage for one more night – neither of which was acceptable to her.

Two of our 5 cottages are pet friendly and our website is very clear about this including our “Pets Policy”. This guest used a third party website for her initial enquiry but was directed to our own website for more information prior to booking and was provided with terms and conditions upon booking which stated which cottages were pet friendly. Had she mentioned that she required a pet friendly cottage during her initial enquiry then we would have happily upgraded other guests to accommodate her needs. However, even at our pet friendly cottages we do not permit dogs to be inside cottages nor left unattended at any time for the benefit of the pets and future guests. We encourage responsible dog ownership at all times.

We had a very warm welcome and had some very pleasant walks. The owners would drop us a few km away everyday and we would spend a few hours walking back to the cottage. We stayed in the keepers lodge which was very spacious and private. We'll definitely go back.

We have just returned from 4 nights in "Kings Den" a lovely hidaway couples cottage at Cape Howe Cottages and I'm still taking in all the images of the bush, the isolation and the beautiful coastal scenery. I booked through "Wotif" and within 20 mins of booking Gaynor was on the phone telling me she would be sending information via email as she normally sent out info in the post but there was little time for this - a very efficient service. We were greeted by her and shown our cottage which was a very welcome retreat from the pressures of city life. Really enjoyed our time down south discovering West Cape Howe National Park and lovely beaches plus visits into Denmark and Albany. The cotttage had everything which has been described before, it was very much appreciated and added up to a very relaxing stay.

We stayed at Tall Timbers in February and loved it. This is a full equipped clean house for the same price as a hotel or motel, but with so much more. It's in bushland in between Alabny and Denmark, making it a 20min trip either way. It will easily accomodate large families, with three bedrooms- one main one, then one studio upstairs as well as one smaller room with two single beds. It's got a HUGE kitchen that's fully stocked, as well as a great balcony with barbecue looking out to the trees. I can't recommend this place more highly. If you're not one who needs daily service and are happy to be left on your own, this is the place for you.

I've reviewed this place before from a stay in the romantic couples cottage "Kings Den".

We enjoyed it so much we brought the in-laws down to stay in the two bedroom "Wardroom". What a great space. Light, bright, full of space and very well kitted out and that location overlooking the coastal bush covered dunes out to climpses of the Southern Ocean was a delight.

Bird and lizard spotting from the balcony is good fun, and the wardroom is about a ten minute walk down the dirt road to pretty Lowlands Beach.

I think this place is a great base for South Coast adventures, with Denmark and Albany and their surrounds both within easy reach if you fancy getting out and about.

But this place is a great place to just hole up and do very little as well.

We stayed for 5 nights in 'The Wardroom'. The house had everything that was needed for our stay and the option of home cooked meals delivered to our door was fantastic and much appreciated after a busy day of exploring the area. It was a perfect size for a family of four. The location was great and we loved waking up to magnificent views over the Australian bushland first thing in the morning. We really appreciated the peace and solitude of the location and enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in the Keepers Lodge @ $180 p/day. It is a stunning stunning location with amazing view over the bushland. The house was clean well presented with everything you may need.
The kitchen appliances dated and it can do with upgrade.
We enjoy the rural location. Nearby Lowlands beach stunning location.
I would liked a choice in rooms as we booked a 4 bedroom house and found half of the house locked up leaving us with 2 rooms. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to get away from the city!!

Keepers Lodge is a large 4 bedroom/2 bathroom house sleeping up to 10 people. Guests are provided access to the various sections of the house depending on the number of beds required and the tariff paid. Our website and sales information clearly states “You can choose how much of the house you require and only pay according to how many beds and bathrooms you use.”

As these guests booked for 2 adults and 2 children they were provided with access to the two best bedrooms and the largest of the 2 bathrooms plus full access to all the living, dining, kitchen, laundry areas (a total of more than 150 m2 of living space) plus all the outdoor space. Only 2 bedrooms and one bathroom were locked off as these sections were not paid for within the tariff.
