“Lavender Cottage deserves to be #1”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

This was our 1st visit to Lavender Cottage and what a fabulous night we had.
The cottage itself is lovely & nicely decorated. The hosts were super friendly (chatted to the chef before we left) and the food had that wonderful homemade charm that's very hard to come by these days.
Fantastic value at just under $80 for 3 courses including extras (BYO with no corkage charge).
Our reservation was for 7pm and the 6 of us were still happily sat chatting at 10.30pm - there was definitely no pressure on us to leave.
We'll definitely be heading back to Lavender Cottage on our next trip to Albany.

“Superb - The Best in Albany”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

The people, the place, surroundings, garden, the whole experience offers a superb lunch, dinner or afternoon tea. The food is simply delicious, using the freshest ingredients with flair and simplicity. A cut above other mainstream eateries in town and at a fair, competitive price.

“My little piece of food heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

I always come here for my treat. Location and surrounds are beautiful. On a summer day sitting in the cottage garden watching the bay just lovely. The amazing food is french based and just the flavor to die for. The menu and daily special are varied and coffe and cake range are so good. Treat yourself , you wont be disappointed.

“Always Great!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

Such a great place for coffee and cake, also lunch is fantastic. I really want to eat on their friday nights but it is always booked out! It is so rustic and comfortable inside, also a great courtyard out the back.

Personally I think they make the best coffee in town, want to know what a real cappuccino looks like? Then go here.

“Overrated...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

I was disappointed with my Friday evening meal. The duck for mains was overcooked and its accompaniments were bland. Chocolate fondant for desert was also dry and not rich enough. To finish the dear French owner was less than complimentary when our large table was refused separate billing and we had to pay equal parts when I had consumed considerably less than my colleagues.. for the hassle it us to get into I would not bother again. There are much better French options in Albany.
