“best in oz”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

wife and I had a madras and a jalfreizi here and it was probably the best curry we have had in Australia, the restaurant is part of a motel, the waitress was welcoming and was prepared to help with choices, bottle of water was put on the table without having to ask, no offer of drinks menu but we weren't having any anyway, the surroundings weren't as lavish as some indian eateries and the bollywood music was a bit too loud ( we were near the speakers ) but the main thing was the food and it was great, we were offered for our curries to be mild medium or hot/strong , unusual, we both chose medium, the best curry we have had outside of England.
$41 for 2 inc poppadoms, great value.

“Pretty good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013 via mobile

We pre-ordered a takeaway, which was ready (irritatingly) almost 25 minutes after the agreed time. Good food but a pretty chaotic set-up, with one guy taking phone orders, welcoming diners, sorting the bills etc. There seemed to be two waitresses on duty for a full restaurant. Understaffed!! The tandoori lamb chops were truly superb. The mains - chicken masala and fish malabar - were both quite good. Lots of chicken/fish, and good quality produce, but both sauces seemed one-dimensional, lacking in the layered flavours you might get in a REALLY good Indian meal. So, no complaints, and a joy to get quite good Indian food in countrry WA.

“Best Indian in Town!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

The Curry Leaf food is great - dine in or take a away, it is hard not to go there only once a week. Have tried lots on their menu now from Vegetarian to Rogan Josh and have never been disappointed, the Kashmiri rice is lovely!

“Interesting experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

went there with our family of 4 for dinner one Sunday evening when holidaying in Albany.
We ordered starters and mains. Mixed platter to start was excellent and sufficient for 3 of us to share
3 of the mains were great and what was ordered however the mushroom curry was full of mixed vegetables and not a mushroom in sight. On mentioning it to the waiter he whisked the dish away and came back with 2 tiny slivers of mushroom on a plate. The chef said we had probably already ate the mushrooms, however we had only had a couple of bites of the dish and it really was not like any mushroom curry I have had before. Also one of the naan breads was wrong and on mentioning it we were told they didn't have what we ordered. However we ordered what the waiter recommended!
Overall the food was very tasty and we did enjoy it but I did feel like I had been transported into a Fawlty Towers episode
It was very good value $140 for starters, mains and soft drinks for 4.
