As you drive down the pleasant but unexceptional residential street on the outskirts of Albany your expectations are modest as you approach what appears to be a well kept typical family home - but then you are greeted by your host Maggie and are taken down the wooden steps past the Jacuzzi into the wonderful world that is Hideaway Haven.
We stayed at this oasis for a week during the busy build up to our daughter's wedding and found the tranquillity of the Vista View room the perfect tonic. We had a wonderful view from our private balcony across the treetops and fields to the distant waters of Oyster Harbour. As you sit eating your breakfast in the morning sunshine listening to the birdsong you could be miles from anywhere - you are in fact a 10 minute drive from the centre of Albany - amazing!
Hideaway Haven has an excellent website that describes things perfectly and a regular informative newletter but a special mention has to be made of the breakfasts - gourmet quality with something different but equally delicious each day - the food was as good as anything my wife and I have had anywhere
The attentive hosts Maggie and Becki live above the guests accommodation - never intrusive but always on hand if you need anything. We arrived as weary travellers from the UK but left at the end of our weeks stay feeling as though we had made two new friends
Thanks ladies for a memorable stay - don't change a thing
