“queen family room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

2bedrooms which is good. rooms need more work done to them to be 4star luxury as advertised. They need to be finished off. They look like they only half been done. There are no bedside tables in either bedroom, no tissues (pain in the bum when u sneezing) no mini bar, no milk for complimentary tea/coffee and no one at reception. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, carpets are new. Breakfast not fantastic but very passable. Heater/air con for the rooms is in the bathroom...weird yes

Room Tip: No kids activities or fitness centre/pool

I booked a last minute special online, king size room with a complimentary bottle of wine and breakfast vouchers for two.
The reception was very friendly, the room was clean and nice, the TV was big and we received quite a few channels. The bed was comfy and clean. The wine was really good (I'm normally a bit of a red wine fuzz).
The balcony had a view of the adjacent road and the surrounding car dealers etc., but that's not really the Hotels fault. The fridge was turned off and empty and there were only two wine glasses on the shelf which looked a bit "foggy", but were clean.
The shower needed a while to get hot, but worked fine then.
The only real disappointment we had was when we turned up to the breakfast and there was no real buffet, only bread and cheese, ham, vegemite and honey, coffee and juice. You could order the full English though, but after they advertised with pancakes and maple syrup, croissants and a big buffet we were quite disappointed.

If you plan on walking around it is not in the best location as it is a few kilometres out of the Albany town centre.

Overall I'd say it's a good hotel if you can get a last minute deal, but I wouldn't be satisfied if I had to pay full price.

Room Tip: Take an upstairs room, that way you have a balcony with a bit of a view and don't end up on a te...

This is yet another time I am thankful that I have continued getting an Accor Club membership each year. Under $90 for two with a full breakfast. From the outside things looked very like any other busy highway motel. Inside the room, though small, was beautifully furnished, very clean and no traffic noise. My friend said it was much nicer than another similar hotel/motel she had stayed at in Albany. The breakfast was delish.
Would certainly stay there again when wanting to take in a dinner and show.

Average accommodation, not good value for money. Overall needs a spit and polish and smartening up inside and outside. Lighting quite poor in the room and very poor outside with most lights not in operation?

We booked the Ibis because it was one of the only places in Albany that had wifi in the rooms. When I couldn't find the network we called reception and were told that it wasn't working. It probably wasn't avoidable but had they have told us when we checked in, I would've tried to find somewhere else.
Room is ok but the view of the 6 water heaters from our wall of windows is definitely an eye sore.
The bathroom had a dim light, no light in the shower and we were given one face washer for 2 people.
The water wasn't hot.
I tried to watch TV and a lot of the channels just said 'no signal' not worth the $99 I spent plus booking fees.

It is a older block of motels, they have redecorated the rooms inside, the king room was good, bed was comfortable, the bathroom small, but toilet seat would not stay up. Good size television.
The Service and food is appauling! We brought a package deal with breakfast included, the food is not freash, it's in a baymarie and is cold and is like rubber. We had dinner the first night of our arrival, it was just awful, we waited to be seated outside the restuarant for 20 mins, nobody at reception and nobody came to seat us, when we asked a waiter to attend to us he told us we should have been standing at the Please wait to be seated sign! there are couches in the area we were sitting on along with other people waiting, He was quite happy to argue it was our fault as we were sitting not standing, dispite we made numerous attempts to find some staff. He then seated us as a couple on own without childeren smack bang inbetween 2 tables with families of young children and babies, we love childeren but there were plenty of private areas he could have put us, we moved ourselves to a quiter spot. As we moved through the room we become aware we were not the only ones that were upset with the quality of food and service. We ordered our main which came on a small dinner plate, my steak and sauce covered the plate. We were told to put salads and potatoes etc from the baymarie on the same plate by the bar staff. By the time you find a waiter to get you a plate your main meal is cold, some waiters provide their section with side plates but ours didn't. Breakfast was a bad exprience, if you dont drink tea or coffee there is no other option of a hot drink, unless you pay for hotchocolate, once again no staff around, I had to go out to reception to inquire. Pancakes are like rubber, not alot of choice and all the hot food is cold and that was 7am opening time! The rubbish and garden under ouside stairs is not very attractive or welcoming.
We have found there are so many good places in Albany to eat than to tolerate this.

Room Tip: King room was comfortable, lighting in room very poor - low wattage lamps. We were upstairs, being o...

The hotel rooms & reception staff are all good. Breakfast was a complete shambles. After checking the room compendium, breakfast closes at 9.30. Got in there at 8.45 only to be told that it is 9.00, not 9.30. OK, I’ll let that slide. Other guests can in just before 9.00 being told the same thing. The waiter was arguing with 2 guests & pointed out the menus in the restaurant said 9.00. That was it. I had to say something. Another guest walked in to the same tune. The waiter continued to argue over the times. I pointed out that the error in the room compendiums should be changed & he should stop arguing with guests. By this time, we were all rather tense & the experience was terrible. Along with the loud music coming from the kitchen drowning out the TV’s with the news, & dry old food that was in the breakfast bar that was terrible, I walked out with a bad start to my day. NOT HAPPY as previous stays have always been exceptional.
