“Ridiculously overpriced for the most basic and supposedly "4 1/5 star" accommodation... Go elsewhere!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for a romantic getaway in the eastern suburbs. Walked into the "deluxe suite". And was greeted by a large brown stain outside the bathroom. The bathroom itself was filthy.. Didn't use the spa because all the jets were stained brown.
In the lounge area there was no couch to sit on only individual chairs, which was rather strange. The room felt under furnished.
After I left I was quite ill, and after medical investigation, it was found that I had inhaled some sort of toxin.
Everything in the room was way overpriced as well. There was even a sign to say if you took a coat hanger they would charge you $5!!

Stayed here as I had some work in the region.

The Good: Rooms were clean, reasonably new

The Bad: Missing the most basic of amenities - No hair dryer for example
No 24 hour room service - not even for basic things
The only food available in the entire hotel is ASIAN/CHINESE food
RIDICULOUSLY expensive mini bar - one small Mars Bar was $4?
Nothing really closeby to purchase any food/drinks if you need any either!!

You know the confusion when things aren't consistent? - when you get mixed signals?
The Pebble is a bit like that. On the plus ++ side, locatoin is handy to main roads, plenty of parking, it is not expensive for a room, the front office staff were very helpful, it is generally clean, neat, reasonably sized queen room, clean bathroom.

Not so? There seems to be a general lack of maintenance, lots of little things need repair or paint. Walls and fittings have chips in paint, dead flys on the window sills in passages, bath does not drain as qick as shower delivers, breakfast is very ordinary - poor value for money, NO free Wi Fi ($20.00 / day for a cable is crook!

I would stay again, is is bearable

We are 2012 so you would really expect a hotel to provide WIFI, especially when you are travelling on business. So this is really a big downside for me. The location isn't too cosy, it's on the corner of a very busy street.

The rooms are very basic, and the bed is placed in a way that doesn't feel right, locationwise.
There is a Chinese restaurant in the hotel, which is pretty OK but not very cosy and pretty expensive.

Say you're just stopping to sleep this hotel is OK, but for business I wouldn't recommend this.

The foyer looked ok but it was all down hill from there. The room allocated (@$130) was small and uninviting; had dirty broken lounge, cushion with dried white stuff on it, tiny TV, pillows that already passed used by date, A/C not working with broken dial, noisy main road, bath tub waste not draining properly, worn carpet, one single cloth hanger, etc. Had some difficulty communicating with receptionist and couldn't impress her to have the A/C fixed...
And it got worse; the breakfast consisted of exclusively Kelloggs cereals (not sure how long the cereal had been out there), warm horrible coffee, warm water for tea, 8-10 warm mini frankfurts, a few scoops of scrambled egg cooked with rancid oil, a dozen rashes of half cooked smelly bacon - this was for all the guests!! By the way, the receptionist insisted the hotel was fully booked, and couldn't make any change to the room allocation. As far as I could see it was almost deserted - may be it was so for good reason.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side could be quieter but seriously pick another hotel.

Entering the lobby - all looks good. First impressions of the room - all looks good. Then you go to use the room and its facilities. Stayed in the $130 Queen bed room. The small desk to work from has no power point near it. The bed is the hardest I've ever experienced. The Lounge was one of those Futon style double beds and was so uncomfortable to sit and watch TV. The 22" TV was way too small for the room and no foxtel. $8 pure blondes from the mini bar. Shower was in the bath with no water pressure + water saver shower head and to top it off the bath has one of those permanently fixed bath plugs that stayed closed thus the bath filled up as you showered. The hand basin had the same problem. Also too bad if you wanted to use the bathroom power point as it was mounted in the middle of the side wall, thus you couldn't charge your shaver etc in the bathroom. Didn't try their restaurant as $25 for Honey Chicken seemed a bit much which brings me to the only highlight - "The Knox Club" is across the road with a fantastic feed and club priced drinks. Room has only one power point in it with a sign "please don't unplug the fridge on it" - well guess what you have to do to plug in your laptop ? Enough said.....

Accommodation was modern, clean and lovely. After arriving very late I was looking forward to the breakfast. However it was very disappointing - a joke actually. No fruit to be seen. Only white bread, and who wants little red frankfurts for breakfast??
