“Lovely baby moon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment overlooking the gardens with the ocean visible to the right. It was peaceful and quiet... We could still hear the ocean at night without the sound of traffic that ocean view rooms must surely have as they're right in the road.

The room was nice and new... A whiff of damp in the corridor when we arrived but it was gone the next day. The shower had great pressure, and the bath nice and deep for pregnant relaxing :)

We had a night spa outside which was a hot-cold thrill!! Don't recommend jumping in the pool afterwards... Warm pockets from the days sun were deceiving... Freezing!!! The indoor lap pool smelled very chlorinated.

I treated myself to a mani and pedi and leg massage at the day spa... She did a good job but didn't seem very familiar with what essential oils to avoid in pregnancy.

Having the beach outside the hotel was great for walks. I don't think it would be fun to walk into town for dinner though, seemed far... We always got a spot in the free car park next to the hotel which was saved a parking fee in their underground car park. There's about 24 spots, we just timed it well I guess, as we preferred to eat early and be back at the hotel by about 7.

On our last morning we attended a sales session for timeshare -$200 in Coles gift cards was a good lure for us! Interesting as we didn't know anything about timeshare but keep a firm mind as they're very persuasive - offering more options if you say you can't commit to the $$$. We were a bit shocked at the prices, lucky we had a baby in the way as a good excuse!!

Room Tip: Definitely prefer river view over beach front room

Stayed over a weekend with family, had one hotel room and two bedroom apartment. Staff were very helpfull and help carried our luggage, my daughter really appreciated the help as she has twins with lots of luggage. Just wonndering way the hotel room has only queen bed and no table as there was lots of space. Great location to the beach, just across the road. Will stay again.

We recently booked a night at this 'Resort' and were incredibly disappointed. Upon entering the apartment, we noticed how disgustingly dirty the floors, walls and furniture was. There were numerous stains on the carpet, the couches were frayed and stained and the walls were dirty. Other furniture was scratched and chipped and just the overall look and feel of the room was dirty. I'm no clean freak, but even I felt dirty and uncomfortable! I felt grossed out to sit on the sofa and sleep in the bed. What's more, the mugs were dirty and when reception were notified, they sent someone up to check the room. They said that it was 7 years old and that they could get someone up to dry clean the floors.. Yeah right.. Such a disappointing stay, our first break away in 5 years as a family with a new bub. How terrible :( . I stayed at Peppers in Torquay for work last year, and it was amazing. I wish I had have booked there.

My partner and I visited the hotel for a weekend as part of the Worldmark South Pacific Ownership system where we got a reduced rate for the room for two nights in return for attending a 90 minute presentation on the benefits of "owning your holidays".

First the hotel: The room was comfortable and spacious, if not particularly special. The hotel itself was again nice enough without being spectacular. We used the gym but found the indoor lap pool to be too short for lap swimming and the outdoor pool too cold for anything in July. Breakfast was variable with some being quite nice although the coffee was poor and the muffins hard a bricks. The corridors were quite maze like and one section smelt badly of vomit but the staff not involved in the ownership presentations were helpful. For a cheap weekend getaway this would of sufficed if it wasn't for...

The Presentation: It was timed just before lunchtime so we were hungry, it ran for over 2 hours and did its best to confuse us and bully us. The economics behind a lot of their claims were questionable and presented in such a way as to confuse guests into agreeing with them. For a "no obligation, pressure free" presentation we were made to feel very obliged and pressured. The benefits and all the perks are emphasized the whole way through with the nasty sting of the price not revealed until the end. Even then it was presented in such a way to make you think it costs a lot less than it did. Even the lowest price membership option would have equated to nearly a $40,000 outlay over 10 years (their presentation didn't give you this figure) and all you would effectively get during this time would be enough credits perhaps for a long weekend somewhere at anything resembling a peak time. For people prepared to only go on holiday in the lowest part of off-season then perhaps it may be better value, but then there's a reason it's off season I guess. We were made to feel very uncomfortable by the presentation staff and the deal was a one time only offer, with it expiring as soon as we walked out of the door.

This review is just a warning to other people if they do this presentation to do your sums and not fall for the sales patter and actually critically look at what they are offering for your money. Be prepared to stick to your guns. To our eyes it represented very poor value for money.

We stayed at the resort for a night last month for a quick getaway. We booked one of the lead in room categories and when we arrived we were advised that we had been upgraded to an ocean view room which was nice of the hotel to do.

However when we checked in the room was filthy, all of the glasses were dirty and the carpet was stained with what looked like blood stains. When I went down to speak with reception, the receptionist said she would get house cleaning up straight away to clean the glasses. After asking to be moved as I was not comfortable with staying in a room with blood stains on the floor, the receptionist did move us and hoped that this would 'leave a better taste in our mouths'

Overall disappointing stay and really not worth what you pay. Probably much nicer and cleaner places to stay in Torquay.

We recently stayed stayed for 2 nights for a friends wedding. For 5 of us we had adjoining rooms with ample space. The rooms had everything we needed and the kids even used the outdoor spa in June! The staff were very helpful and the buffet breakfast was great value. The wedding reception was magnificent. The room looked stunning, the food delicious and the staff could not do enough for you. Will definately return in summer to make use of the facilities and the beach!

Lovely staff made our stay all the better. The rooms were great nice and warm in winter just what you want :) Right opposite the beach if it was summer would be a great location, great food and overall really nice establishment. Would / will definitely be back.

Room Tip: I had a one bedroom apartment, it had a washer and dryer - awesome.
