“Our stay was great!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

we stayed in the princess suite the room was tidy and nice. maybe overpriced though. we were greeted by very friendly welcoming hands and the place felt very comfy and homely. we were worried booking a (bed and breakfast) always with that feeing that someone will be hanging over your shoulder when your trying to relax but this was not the case. there was a beautiful built in pool and spa area indoors, a kitchen for everyone too use and a huge 8 ball table in a cosy fire heated room. though we only were here for 1 night we still had an enjoyable stay and it was a lovely place.

Room Tip: we stayed in the most expensive room the princess suite. i would say it was overpriced but in Torqua...

Hi Zoe and B,

We're glad you enjoyed your albeit short stay. It was shame you didn't have time to take advantage of our complimentary breakfast ... maybe next time.

We're glad the skydiving was a success. Given Tiger Moth World is just around the corner, we get a lot of skydivers staying with us and know that they do it well.

Thanks for leaving feedback about the room. The Princess Suite was recently renovated and is our most luxurious suite. It's definitely the favourite for couples looking for something a little bit special.

Regards
Stephen and Claudia

What a fantastic place this is. The room was amazing and having stayed in 5 star accommodation whilst staying in Australia we were slightly nervous having booked this ourselves. The view was great from the room as were the facilities and beat a lot of the hotels we have stopped in during our trip. As most reviews say Stephen and Claudia are really warm and welcoming and the attention to detail is second to non. The only complaint we had was the fact we could not stay longer and enjoy all the facilities but we will be back on our next visit to Australia.

We were so happy with the way we were treated by Stephen and Claudia and the standard and level of the facilities that we have passed on the details to our friends in Australia.

The bed was so comfortable it gave us the best nights sleep we have had in 7 weeks in Australia and we had slept well in other places.

Hi John,

We're so glad you and S included a stop at Whitesbeach in your Australian itinerary and look forward to seeing you for a longer stay next time.

Thanks for your generous comments. We receive lots of good feedback about the comfort of our beds, which happen to be manufactured 30 minutes down the road in Geelong.

Safe travels!

My fiance and I stayed for one night over a public holiday. This was an oasis of a guesthouse as soon as you step inside. Good, quite location just over 2km to the main shopping area (Woolworths/restaurants) which makes for a lovely walk or jog or super quick car trip. Excellent cleanliness throughout the house. Room (Cosy Corner) was great and the sheets were silky smooth but I did have trouble falling asleep on the pillows as one was too thin and the other too thick for me. We had a fun (and long) game of pool on the huge billiard table. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the swimming pool/spa, tennis and table tennis. Great touches with the welcome drink and personal tour of the property by Stephen when we arrive. Good quality buffet breakfast included was very welcome after our early morning exercise. Stephen and Claudia have done a superb job with making this property somewhere we would love to return again.

Room Tip: Read the room descriptions on the website to see which would suit your needs.

Hi Linda,

Thanks for taking the time to share your Whitesbeach experience with others. We're so glad you and M enjoyed your stay.

Sorry to hear neither of your pillows was the right size. We actually have a variety of pillows available at request. Based on your feedback, we'll start to include some extras in each room.

Good luck with the wedding plans. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

We stayed at Whitesbeach for one weekend in February to celebrate my birthday and to get out of Melbourne and we were not disappointed. Whitesbeach is close to the beach and a nice walk to the shops. Our room was lovely - it was spotlessly clean and we loved the outdoor shower which was perfect for summer. We also felt very much at home: this was our first time away with our baby so we were a little bit nervous about how things would turn out, but everything went without a hitch - phew! A portacot and toys for our baby were provided at a small additional cost, but it would be even better if a change table could also be included. Stephen and Claudia were very helpful and chatty, but not in an obtrusive way, which we really appreciated - we usually tend to stay in large hotels because we like our anonymity, but we felt very comfortable at Whitesbeach. We would definitely stay at Whitesbeach again, if we had the opportunity.

Hi M and R,

Thanks so much for the review. It’s great that you were able to enjoy yourselves and have everything run smoothly for baby L’s first trip away. At Whitesbeach we like to strive for that delicate balance between providing intimate and personal touches and making sure guests get to enjoy their privacy. It’s nice to hear you felt right at home.

The East and West suites are very pleasant and definitely a popular choice for summer with the private outdoor shower and patio. Thank you for the great idea of a changing table. We will keep our eyes out for one that can easily be used in the suites. Hope to have you join us again.

Cheers,
Stephen and Claudia

As others have commented the hosts here Stephen and Claudia are so welcoming and hospitable, you feel as though you're staying with friends by the end. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, exactly what you would expect to find in a four star. The ammenities are what sets this property apart though; pool and spa, tennis court, billiard table, table tennis, playground with sand pit and lots of lovely spaces to relax with a book and a glass of wine! Breakfast was also really impressive, fresh fruit, croissants, eggs and all the usual continental items. Well worth staying for a few days to enjoy the area and the guest-house. We will definitely be back. Thanks again, Brady & Rachel

Hi Brady, Rachel, and baby S,

Thanks very much for the kind words and taking the time to review.

We agree that our amenities are a focal point to Whitesbeach Guesthouse and one of the things that really helps give guests that ‘something special’ they want from their relaxing holiday. Especially for those travelling with a family, there is plenty to keep the children entertained and lots of quiet places for the adults to sneak off to with a glass of wine, like you mentioned. One of our favourite spots is the balcony with ocean views off the second floor library.

We are so happy you were able to relax, even with the new baby, and take advantage of the full Whitesbeach experience during your stay, including the complimentary breakfast spread each morning. Looking forward to your next visit.

Cheers,
Stephen and Claudia

Hi Denise, Dave, and Laura,

Sorry for the delay in responding to your review. It’s been a busy month over here at Whitesbeach!

So happy to hear you enjoyed your stay in our Coach House. We find that guests really enjoy the balance of having the privacy their own kitchen facilities and private courtyard provide, while being able to walk through the gate and take advantage of all the main house’s amenities whenever they please. It’s a great option for families needing that little bit of extra space.

We hope Denise and Dave will come back to Australia soon, and maybe you can all make a return trip to Torquay.

Cheers,
Stephen and Claudia

The room was very nice, great bed and had a lot of privacy. Stephen and Claudia were very gracious hosts and very accommodating. The neighborhood was very peaceful and quite close to the beach. It was a lovely stay and would like to visit again.
