We ate here on the recommendation of our B & B. the idea of eating in a motel restaurant seemed a little strange, but it was great.
The space is small, and the tables are quite close. However, the noise level on a crowded night is not too bad. Don't expect to conduct a discreet private conversation, though.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful, even though they were flat out busy all night.
The food was of a very high quality, with good ingredients cooked to perfection. The fresh seafood (blue eye) was perfect: off the boat that day, served with a simple sauce and vegetables, and done so that it was moist throughout without being raw.
The other dishes we had were of equal quality.
The bill was not too bad for the quality of the food and wine, and (by capital city standards at least) very fair value. Regardless, you get what you pay for, and we would not hesitate to return.
The wine list is good and not excessively priced, with an interesting range of regional drops.
Don't miss it if you're in Port Fairy!
