Our king suite had bedroom with large, comfy warm bed, a lounge room with tv, a bathroom with bath, hot shower, toilet, sink etc and through our door a kitchenette with tea, coffee supplies. Which we took back to our rooms.
We came with a storm, so appreciated the warm cozy atmosphere with all the sweet little nic nacs.
Reminded me of my youth. It was a very wild and wooly night, but we were snug as a bug in a rug!
Breakfast was provided with usual cereals, home made breads and jams, delicious, we had scrambled eggs and bacon too. The conservatory was bright and cheery.
There are lovely little snugs hidden in this cottage, places to hide and read, or chat.
Definitely a place we would stay again.

The location of the inn was excellent, close to the water and in a nice residential area. The room I had was a little on the small side, but reasonable for a boutique-style inn. I appreciated that there was an excellent restaurant as part of the experience.

After driving the Ocean Road we found Port Fairy & the Merrijig Inn to be an excellent place to both stay & eat. Extremely friendly staff, very comfortable well provided room & superb food both for evening meal & breakfast. Port Fairy has great charm & interest - historical properties, river & beach side setting, walks & wildlife. Should have allowed time for a longer stay!

Truly lovely stay in the well located, friendly and charming Merrijig Inn. We were met with a warm welcome, given clear directions to the highlights of Port Fairy. We stayed in one of the Queen Suites, which had a separate lounge as well as bedroom and shower room - all charmingly decorated. The house and gardens are also lovely - with flowers out front and chickens wandering the back garden and vegetable patch.

But the highlight of this B&B was the food - both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delightful. Full of local produce, cooked with care and served by staff who knew about food and wanted you to enjoy your meal.

I cannot recommend the Merrijig Inn highly enough - it made for a lovely stop during our drive between Adelaide and Melbourne.

I was a little worried having eaten here 12 months before hand under previous owners and reading reviews to suggest it had changed.. HOW WRONG THEY WERE! The merrijig was as fabulous as the first time round.

The food was delicious and service spectacular. We were here on a work party, and they were more than happy to accommodate us on all requests, and even better they are open on Sundays!!

When dining in Port Fairy you MUST try the Merrijig!

New owners always bring new ideas and the Merrijig Inn, one of the oldest inns in Victoria has been very lucky in its choice. They bring flair and quality food to this establishment. In the days when breakfast has become "HoHum", they do a great breakfast with fresh locally sourced ingredients and every day different. Only sorry the restaurant wasnt open the nights we were there-Tuesday and Wednesday but that would be a good reason for another visit.
