“Great place, so close to town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

Stayed here for a rainy couple of days on a powered site in August with 2 dogs. Easy to walk into town. Amenities spotless and the pups loved the green grass to roll and play on. Would definitely stay here again if passing through!

We bare site camped here for 4 nights during this year's festival. Great grass cover and space. The powered sites are very well set out but actually the unpowered sites had a less crowded in feel during this busy time. Weather perfect, safe flagged swimming beach just across the road. Communal facilities and bathroom/toilets all very clean but probably a bit crowded at the peak moring and evening times. Quiet, friendly staff, close to town without being right in it...what more could you wish for?

Room Tip: Go in the gate and select your own unpowered site. Powered sites are allocated. Go for Grass!!

Great size powered sites with a bit of room to move, the caravan park is on the river bank but unable to walk to the river because of marsh area, but close enough to walk to the tourist area and also to the beach. Shower recess is a good size which was great.

We have been holidaying at the Gardens Caravan Park for 9 years, the park is always kept clean, the grass is always lovely and green and sites are kept well maintained. The toilet blocks are very clean, although during peak times they should be cleaned more often (folkies, new years,Easter). A few clean, partially shaded playgrounds in different areas, huge football ground great for kite flying, lots of space for bike riding, close to the rail trail, and the loch for fishing. the washing machines and dryers are a little expensive, but it's all part of camping/caravanning. Close to the east beach, good park security and mostly friendly staff.
One problem, DO NOT allow kids to ride their bikes around toilet blocks, very dangerous, lots of near misses with elderly people, children etc., and although there are signs around, this is not enforced by anyone ( including parents!)

Stayed 2 nights in a tent with kids the weekend after Easter. Good location. The kids loved the space, the proximity of the river and the gardens, and the walk into town across the bridge was only around 5 minutes. The facilities are OK nothing fancy. Site was grassy and luckily a hedge provided some shelter against the 30-knot evening breeze. The staff were very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable about local and not-so-local attractions. At $50 per night just about the most expensive park we found in 4 weeks camping (including over Easter weekend) but that's what you get in a tourist town.

We stayed a couple of nights here in a tent on a powered site. The grass was lovely and green (and why shouldn't it be, it rains just about every day in Port Fairy!), the site well laid out and the bathroom facilities reasonable and clean

Although I didn't use the kitchen facilities, I thought it was a bit rude to charge $1 per 10 minutes operation of the gas stove, especially so when charging $36/night off peak!
