“Twinkling Lights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

After a long drive and wet and windy weather a nice place to stay.Tanya left the cottage ready for us and fire on.Nice fit out and lovely bathroom with tinted window.and spa..Views at night were amazing with the twinkling lights of Port Campbell and then in the morning vivid green of the paddocks and water views in the distance..Very quiet and very private.Has a cute separate private massage hut which over looks the scenery. We had two nights at Anchors and never seen anyone and was only booked from the reccommendations on trip advisors so thankyou everyone. We stayed in unit 2.Nil road noise and lots of little birds to watch.

After driving a few hours along the Great Ocean Road, it's just wonderful to find yourself at Anchors. For two persons, it has lots of space....a king size bed, a living area with a cosy fireplace and full kitchen. As we arrived around 6pm, Ian left the unit opened for us. He was so helpful to walk to our unit after his dinner to show us how to work the fireplace. After that, we just laze in the unit until we felt like driving to Port Campbell for dinner ( to a nice diner recommended by Ian)
Loved the jacuzzi in the good sized bathroom , while my wife loved the sunflower shower....
The whole unit looks very well maintained and clean, and we had a very pleasant one night stay at Anchors!
In the morning, u could look out the windows to a beautiful view of cows and sheep grazing over the huge expanse of fields outside. Truly relaxing.
Highly recommended esp for couples and small families.
As there are only three units , u really need to book early, esp during peak season.

We spent two nights here while driving the Great Ocean Road and this place was amazing. Killer views, nicely equipped suites with lots of amenities. Tanya, our host was gracious and very well informed. We only wish we had spent more time.

Room Tip: We loved #1 but they all have a good views.

We recently spent three nights in Unit 1. We were travelling with our 6 month old so it was a little bit tight for space but we knew what we were signing up for and that’s certainly not a criticism of the unit itself.

What can I say? It truly lived up to our expectations and all the positive reviews we had read. We had uninterrupted, breathtaking views of the countryside as well as the ocean in the distance. Even though there are three villas in fairly close proximity to each other, we felt we had complete privacy and didn’t even notice there were other guests staying there.

The unit itself was clean and well-kept and included all those little extras that really made us feel comfortable and at home (magazines, DVDs, etc.). It was well-equipped too. And when we did run out of a couple of things, the hosts were extremely friendly and obliging and promptly helped us out. There is no washing machine or dryer in the unit itself however, but there is a laundry on-site.

If I had one small criticism though, it would be that upon waking up after our second night there, we found the unit infested with silverfish-type creepy crawlies and we had to kill a couple of spiders throughout the day. I’m sure they just popped up as a result of the rain we had that night, but it’s a little bit off-putting if you’re not a fan of creepy crawlies. I admit I forgot to mention it to the hosts when I handed the keys back, but it wasn’t exactly something that ruined our stay there.

And the local food items included in the breakfast hamper were quite good too. Although we felt that we probably should have just used the money we spent on the hamper down at the local grocery store buying food items we were more likely to eat.

Overall, we felt this place was an all-rounder in terms of accommodation, views, value for money and service. We would gladly stay there again if we were in the area!

Room Tip: Unit 1 has great privacy and uninterrupted views of the countryside and ocean.

We stayed here because of the high rating and Tanya's service was fabulous. The villa was really gorgeous and private. We wished we had bought groceries before closing time so we could enjoy the whole place longer. There was a induction stove, microwave, barbecue and crockeries enlighten to whip up a meal. We had to simply packed dinner and enjoy it in the villa switching the TV onto some jazz. Tanya has thought of everything and placed in the villa which made it super. There were even candles with matches available for a romantic bath.

Gorgeous view down the hill and with the clear sky. laundry room was a small walk from the villa and parking was just outside of each villa. There was massage service with early appointment.

We would definitely want to be back again, this time packed with stuff so we can just spend the whole time here.

We stayed there on a recommendation and what a treat it was
The property consists of 3 private villas set high on the hill with sweeping views of Port Campbell and surrounds.
No expense has been spared in the fit out. The king bed was super comfy with extra cushions - the bathroom had a supersize spa bath and modern fittings. The kitchen was state of the art with induction cooking. The lounge had a comfy sofa with table, mounted TV and gas fireplace. Double blinds to allow a sleep in :) The villa was so peaceful and had every amenity you needed and we didn't want to leave. Our host, Tanya was fantastic and went the extra mile. Fresh milk (not long life), coffee machine with beans, muesli sachets. Candles in the bathroom, bubble bath. Fluffy towels. A selection of DVD's . The first thing that struck us was how spotless this was and how modern. Spoil yourself !!!

Room Tip: Just enjoy!

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to Melbourne to spend a bit of time exploring the GOR and having time out. Tanya was friendly, organised and helpful, organising a cot for our baby and offering a high chair if we needed it. The villas are gorgeous - great just to hang out in and watch the sunset and the ocean in front of the fire. The rooms are absolutely spotless and perfectly fitted out with amazing attention to detail. A wonderful place to relax and a pleasure to stay at.
