4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013 via mobile

We stayed 2 nights. Our room (#2) was spacious and comfortable, although the bed was on the firm side.
The bathroom is tiny but adequate.
Noise may be an issue for some. We found that the noise from next door's bathroom was audible even with the door of our (adjoining) bathroom closed. And the property is located on a steep slope, so from about 7 a.m., the sound of cars accelerating up the hill begins.
Otherwise, it was an ideal place to stay. Sue and Lauren are great hosts, full of useful local information. And they are cleanliness freaks! Every surface and every sheet and towel is washed spotless, to a state where no bacterium would dare intrude!
They are also passionate about food and things French, and those passions shine out in breakfast.
Noise or not, we would stay there again if we return to Lorne.

Our bedroom was a warm cosy retreat from awful weather while we were in Lorne. Very large bed with comfortable extra pillows and electric blankets. Good seating on wicker chairs, mini fridge, tea making facilities - no coffee provided in the room. Free wifi. The shower and loo in our room (number 2) were in a separate room with the basin in the bedroom. Balcony with lovely views to the sea. Room is easy to heat with a radiator. Breakfast is served in a charming room with a small outside veranda for warm weather eating. The breakfast is delicious with very good coffee but what's on offer is limited. Very friendly hosts with whom we had interesting chats in the morning (they do not live on site). This B&B is highly recommended.
Be aware of the awkwardly angled driveway and shower water which can become scalding hot very suddenly.

Room Tip: If stairs are a problem ask for the room on the ground floor

Really enjoyed our stay at this lovely B&B. The room was bright and spacious, loved the comfy bed and extra fluffy towels, and we had a great view of the ocean. Our host was super friendly and great for a chat over breakfast about local dining and activities, and the freshly baked croissants were brilliant (seriously brilliant)! Thanks for a great long weekend.

Stayed for 1 night at La Perouse recently whilst on a Great Ocean Road trip with my parents who were visiting from the UK. La Perouse is ideally situated just a short walk from the beach and main street of Lorne, although up a steep hill so you definitely work off your dinner on the walk back from town!
I loved the french country style decor and the little luxury touches like Penhaligon's bath products and Apple TV in the bedrooms, and had a sound night's sleep in the comfy bed. The best part of the stay though was breakfast - 'petit dejeuner' in the dining room & hosted by Sue & Laurel. The homemade croissants, muesli and fruit were a great start to the day, and the ladies were great hosts and really knowledgeable about the local area, giving us advice for the day ahead.

Overall a lovely stay and a nice luxury treat for my parents at the start of the Great Ocean Road.

We stayed 3 nights in La Perouse. The house is situated about 500 meters from down town Lorne. You must drive a steeply street. Our lodging was a small wooden cottage with a little covered terrace.Inside we found a good, comfortable bed and a big bathtub. Everything was clean, but the room was small and dark and with old furniture. It was tricky to open the entrance door. The breakfast inside the mainhouse was continental french with fresh orange juice, fresh baked croissants, jam and tea or coffee. I think 290.-- AUD per night plus 8,75 AUD Credit Card surcharge are to much.

Just lovely. Thank you for a really lovely night in your gorgeous house. My husband and I were planning a whistle stop tour of the Great Ocean Road and I came across this place on trip advisor. After reading good reviews before arrival we were not disappointed. Gorgeous room (we were in the cottage), lovely details, beautiful bed linen (I am fussy about things like that!), helpful information about the local area and a wonderful nights sleep. Breakfast was delightful - Sue and Laurel you make the place very special. It was lovely to meet you and hear your stories of travelling and how you set the business up. Thank you for a truly special night in a special place, please keep it up so that others can get the same experience and enjoy it as much as we did!

Laurel and Sue really know how to run a B&B and it shows. Spotlessly clean, quality and comfort in a stunning location. It doesn't get much better than this. Thanks also for the great recommendations to eat and visit in and around Lorne. If we ever come back this way along the Great Ocean Road, we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Go for the cottage if available.
