“Great place to stay on Phillip Island”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

I have been very worried about my choice of accom after ready so many bad reports over the last few months. On arrival reception could not have been more helpfull & over the next 7 days of our stay answered any questions we had. Our cottage was 3 bedroom 1 ensuite (shower toilet & basin. 1 bathroom with bath and shower over it separate toilet room laundry washer dryer. Small kitchen living area with deck fron & rear. Everything was spotless. Rustic garden with very friendly magpies & hoping rabbits. The most bird life I have seen for a long while. Being winter the gas & air conditioner have been going non stop to make a very warm living area. Kitchen oven microwave all you need if cooking. We had a wonderful seafood pizza. Also a special meat one (not so great) buffet breakfast the usual basic scramble egg bacon tomato baked beans sausage cerial juice yogurt pastries(not very good). Pay in advance for $19 or $22 on the morning. A great inside lap pool & gym. Right down the bottom end of a very large resort out side tennis court & spa also in this area. Close to the pizza & cafe there is another gym pool & tennis court also the largest indoor spa I have ever seen 5 steps up the ladder to get into it
You really need to be fit or a car to go into the main town Cowes although I have seen bus picking up people at resort not sure if that is for tours as I didn't require this. I am usually a 5 star person but this resort has changed my mind a little as we all (6 adults) decided it was very enjoyable

Stayed here for two nights, picked it over the internet its nothing like the photos, not sure how they can call themselves a resort, it was just and over priced cabbin park. Stayed during winter and it was freezing inside the rooms.

Recently spent 5 nights at Phillip Island staying at the Ramada. The accommodation is individual, stand alone cottages spread over a 65 acres of natural beauty with 7 kilometres of walking tracks. There was 5 of us and we stayed in a 3 bedroom cottage which was clean, comfortable and had a full kitchen and a wonderful gas heater which kept us cosy throughout the winter nights. There was a large deck at the front of the cottage and a smaller deck at the rear. The large deck had an outdoor setting, however as it was cold and raining this could not be utilised as there was no awning/sail over the area. I feel an awning/sail would give protection from the elements while accessing the cottage and would allow the area to be used in all types of weather. If there was a down side to the resort is the lack of street lighting. Most people seem to leave their outside lights on at night. I assisted a young girl who got disorientated and couldn't find her cottage. The staff were professional and friendly and recommended activities. We ordered wood fired pizzas one night and was told the pizzeria wasn't opened to dine in due to him being there by himself. We ordered and he rang when the pizzas were coming out of the oven and we had "take way". The pizzas were tasty but a little over priced. The accommodation is a few minutes from Cowes the largest town on the island and I would recommend it.

We stayed in a three bedroom deluxe....four adults and one child. It was a great place. Please be aware that it is a very large and spread out property. We loved that aspect though. We didn't use any of the pool or recreation facilities as it was a cold winters day/night but they all looked great. Had a meal at the bistro and it was adequate but I can't say it was great and they had some staffing issues which meant that they were turning people away despite the restaurant being empty. The cottage itself was simple, tasteful with comfortable beds. The kitchen was a full size which is great if you want to save money and cook. We will definitely return again in the summertime to enjoy all that the resort (and Phillip Island) has to offer.

Room Tip: The three br deluxe has an ensuite and a full bath in the main bathroom.

The Ramada Resort at Phillip Island was fantastic!! We received exceptional customer service and an immediate booking service. The staff were very friendly, the accomodation was clean and warm, particularly suitable for a family of 5. The outside spa was a bit too cold, although the indoor pool was great and the entire facility and grounds were thoroughly enjoyed! Can't wait to go back again.

Room Tip: The bedroom cabin for families is spacious and a great set-up

There was someone else's hair in the shower and food on the 'clean' cutlery in the drawer. Revolting. The frypan was in the cupboard but had water in it??? The room looked shabby with the guard on the bottom of the heater broken and hanging off, the TV remote was cracked, the wine glasses mismatched, etc. When told about the dirtiness, staff acted to remedy the issues, however once you've seen filth and dirtiness in the room it makes you wonder how thoroughly the room is cleaned between stays, and why aren't the rooms checked before new people check in???!!!! I stayed in a studio room and it was dark and impossible to find your way to the door, even though I left my outside light on. Also, no shelter at the door, it was raining when I arrived, got wet trying to open the door with my luggage/bags/keys in hand. Far from ideal.
