“good food, price quite high, but good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

I visited this restaurnt in their winter time. Food is very good, to say the truth.. it's just a little bit expensive for the kind of place you are in. It'd need a little renewal...but they have good staff and food!

“All that jazz”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

The food and service were fine, but what made the night was the jazz band. They were locals but very talented. The curries were a bit plain, but my partner's fish was very good. Glad we went here and not to the hotel across the road!

Hi David B,
We would like to thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on our establishment (although a little belated) we appreciate all reviews both good and bad provided by our customers, and we're very glad you enjoyed our jazz performers as they have been very widely enjoyed each month by many of our diners.
We were a little disappointed to hear that the curries were a bit plain for your liking on this visit - they are quite a popular dish on our menu and we always strive to keep them as flavourful as possible! But also very happy to know your partner enjoyed their fish!

We welcome you back in anytime!

Warm regards, the team @ The Fat Seagull!

“Eating in Cowes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Had a great meal at this restaurant. it was a miserable Tuesday night at 7.30. Cowes was wet and a bit quiet. I ordered the oysters, a dozen Kilpatrick and mornay 50/50, and the chicken mignon. Both were excellent, although I thought I would talk to the chef and offer some comment on the meal. David quickly attended and was attentive to my comments regarding his efforts. It wasn't like I looked like I knew what I was talking about, unshaven, pushing 70 years on the planet, but his engagement was obvious. If your ever in Australia at Philip Island you should visit Cowes and eat at this place, The Fat Seagull. It will be a must for penguin observers and motorsport enthusiasts visiting the Moto GP or v8 supercars at the track, or just foodies. PS I saw hem serve a mean baby chino:).

“Impressive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

We dropped into this restaurant after going to the Penguin Parade. To say we were pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. The service was fantastic. The food very yummy. We ordered from the "express menu" which came with a glass of wine. The wine was absolutely delightful. The piece de resistance was the sticky date pudding. I died and went to heaven.

Hi Marileees,
We would love to thank you a little belatedly, for both taking the time to leave us feedback and leaving us such a kind review at that! It's always lovely to hear when customers have enjoyed the experience that we aim to provide and it seems that we have been able to leave you full, and satisfied! We also love the sticky date - and it seems many of our customers enjoy it just as much as you!

Feel free to join us anytime for another meal, or dessert!
