The service was fast and reliable. We got a two pasta and garlic bread take away deal. THe pasta was bland but garlic bread was great.

“Nice meal and great price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

We just happened to be here on a Tuesday night when they had $12 specials for pizza and entree size pasta. I really enjoyed my salmon carbonara pasta, it was really tasty.

“Couldn't Fault It”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

We were looking for a family friendly restaurant and struck gold with The Fat Seagull. Children eat free with adults having a main meal. Great selection - I had a pesto chicken pasta dish - delicious! My husband had the 3 curry meal with accompaniments which again was excellent, and our daughter and son in law had a pizza each. Loads of topping and terrific value at $12 each - a special for the night. One child had spaghetti bolognese - huge and tasty and the other had a pizza (with her own selection of toppings). Their meals came with a free drink and ice-cream sundaes were great value at $3 for them. Cake and coffee to follow at $10.50 was also great value, and it is a BYO restaurant with $7 charged for corkage. The staff were friendly and efficient and the restaurant had a very nice ambience. We went early at 5.30pm with the children and there were several diners when we left, despite it only being a Tuesday. I would definitely go again!

“Good value, good for kids”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

We went during the September school holidays to Phillip Island, and they had a special: kids eat for free when you purchase a full-priced adult main dish. That drew us in, plus the reasonable prices on the menu overall.

We all had pasta dishes, and they were just fine. Nothing to write home about, but tasty and generally good. I had pasta primavera, which was supposed to have cherry tomatoes but had wedges of big tomatoes instead. Okay, probably b/c it wasn't yet really tomato season. Still, they were fine, and the rest of the ingredients in the dish were very good.

For our son we asked for pasta with just parmesan cheese only, and they gave us pasta with butter (we had said butter was fine too), and the only parmesan we had access to was the stuff in the jar on the table. Again, not terrible, but not great. They also forgot to bring the side of carrots we had asked for for him.

Still, they were very accommodating with our special request for our son, and hey, his meal was free! Plus, they had paper covers on the table cloths and they brought markers for him to draw on the paper cover. A nice way to take up the time before the meal arrived.

Overall, a decent meal for a good price. Would consider going back.
