“Great location in a Great Town!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

This motel is a must stay if you are passing through Apollo Bay. We had a ground floor room, with amazing views of the water. There is a major highway between motel and beach however noise is hardly an issue.

Lovely restaurants in town, and mini carnival kept us entertained after dinner. We ate later around 8:30 and had no dramas finding a restaurant open. Excellent pier to walk down and capture some pictures of the ocean and valley mountains.

The only downside to the hotel is there is a lack of privacy about the rooms, people in the car park or reception or highway can see through windows which is fine but at times it is nice to have some privacy.

Overall a fantastic motel, would definitely stay again, fairly reasonable price.

This motel is a quiet gem that's a fantastic place for a midweek or weekend away from the busy city. The owners are very nice and accommodating. We had a downstairs room, which we thought was going to be a bad idea but turned out a delight. The room was bright and spacious with large windows looking out onto the ocean. The location is a short walk to the shops, which allows you to breathe in the fresh sea air. A overall highly enjoyable trip and highly recommended.

Our hosts Graeme & Linda were exceptional and friendly + very honest. We wanted a quiet getaway for 3 nights and the value for money was great. There were show rides in town and the noise very high - we didn't have that issue here. Yes the place is 35 years old but our room was professionally serviced every day and nothing was a bother. As for the parking - we all have power steering now and parking sensors, so no dramas there. Beautiful sunset views every night and rolling waves from the beach; Will come again and have recommended to family and friends.

Room Tip: Stayed on ground floor - great private balcony & views

Completely NO VALUE FOR MONEY.

Reception people were fine. Room slightly ok, but price for the room was completely OUT OF AVERAGE AND VERY EXPENSIVE for the facilities and service available.
It is Ocean View, but the zone is windy and no fully possible to use the terrace. In addition, in between the hotel and the beach there is a big road.
Conclusion: a good position to stop during the drive but NOT AT ALL A VALUABLE ADDRESS FOR THE PRICE ASKED (no breakfast, no services, nothing to restore in a town where 8pm is far too late for chosing a restaurant).

Room Tip: for sure, not a ground floor room.

It sufficed as somewhere to stay overnight and was reasonably clean but the micowave that was advertised didn't materialise.

the location is poor, since there are no food facilities (ie microwave) and it isn't within walking distance of the reastaurants, so the option of dinner out with drinks wasn't available, neither was a couple of pre-dinner drinks and then going out to get a takeaway.

It does overlook the beach, but you don't get any views from a downstairs room, what you do get though, is noise from your neighbours.

We were really looking forward to our stopover at apollo bay, but came away disappointed.

Room was clean but there were beetles everywhere. Very disappointed to find out that there was no microwave in there. Asked the owner about it, he said "we don't have microwaves in any room. Sorry we didn't tell u before booking." If microwave is not on ur priority list, then it's a great place.....

We enjoyed two nights here. Our upstairs room had a balcony . The really good thing was it had decent lighting both in the centre of the room and by the bedside. Comfortable bed, heat pump not needed but good to see it was there. Very clean. No traffic noise and only a short walk into the little township, harbour and beach.
Would stay again. Looked at about five other motels in the town before we found this one and were glad we had been fussy.
