“Friendly and welcoming.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

What a lovely part of Tasmania. Lots to see and do. Peppers staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and sights to see. The room was comfortable and large with a very good king bed. Bathroom was also very well equipped and their were little luxuries like really creamy soaps and a separate toilet. The restaurant served very imaginative and top quality food and they had a good wine list with lots of Tassie wines. we really enjoyed the experience of staying at Peppers.

Room Tip: not all rooms have views but do have a small courtyard.

We travelled as a couple and it was a weekend away without the kids. We booked a package which was an apartment with breakfasts and a 3 course dinner for two. The apartment is very clean and spacious with a fully functional kitchen, laundry etc. The bed was comfortable, the towels were luxurious and soft, pretty much all bathroom amenities were there except for disposable toothbrush and paste.
We had dinner at the restaurant on Saturday night, and the food was very good. The service was pleasant and friendly and since they made an error with our order, they compensated by offering us the wine we ordered for free.
On Sunday night the restaurant was closed so we managed to pick up so local produce and cooked in their kitchen and ate on the big balcony that overlooked the water.
We were doing the Tamar wine trail and I found this property to be great as it was in close driving distance to some very beautiful and popular vine yards including Janz and Pipers.
This is the first time I've stayed with the Peppers brand, however, based on this experience and having stayed in some properties that they've taken over, I'm looking forward to staying with them again in the future.

Room Tip: The apartment is generous in size and if you normally stay in hotel rooms when you travel, I would h...

My wife and I recently travelled around Tassie for a week staying at various locations. Peppers staff were courteous and helpful making our stay most enjoyable. The room was spacious, very comfortable bed, excellent facilities and overlooking the water. Even though it was raining while we were there the apartment offered us great areas to lounge around. On our last day, The resort arranged a wine tour for the arvo with Jeb looking after us for the arvo....many thanks. The restaurant overlooks the water (a great setting) and the food and service was fantastic. A great stay, can highly recommend.

Hi Murray64_13,

Great to hear about your experience and glad you enjoyed what have to offer. The vineyards are definitely more fun when you don't have to drive. Its a shame that we can't control the weather though and great to hear it didn't affect your stay.

Kind Regards

My wife and myself stayed ove the weekend for two nights on a luxury escape deal.We had a 1 bedroom apartment which was a good size with great views over the bay.The eye fillet steak was a fantastic meal we both enjoyed,The staff were very friendly and willing to answer our questions and queries about the area. The only issue i had was that the carpet in our room had a few dirty marks and stains and the lounge suite had seen better days.Exceptional service from the 3 female staff, breakfast was great, please try the eye fillet or the venison meal.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the boat ramp and bay ,lovely quiet spot.

Stayed two nights on a luxury escape deal. We dined on a three course meal for two which is the best we have ever had. Exceptional quality and service together with beautiful views of the bay. Absolutely devine. Apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. Package deal included wine and cheese on arrival however the cheese platter was nothing more than a tasting plate. Other than that very satified.

Our 2 bedroom apartment had a very well appointed kitchen should we have needed to cook. We enjoyed lovely views over the river and thoroughly enjoyed our 1 night stay. Basement parking with an elevator ride to our unit made unpacking easy.

Stayed at Peppers, York Cove for three days in September and had booked a three bedroom apartment for the family at a pretty reasonable rate. Huge apartment with very comfortable queen or King beds in each room which the kids enjoyed and more TVs than we really needed, one in each bedroom and lounge area (4). Good basic range of channels including a basic Foxtel package- I could watch the Rugby at least.
Kitchen is well set up except, and this is the biggest issue, a shortage of basic cooking utensils and cutlery and crockery. This apartment could hold 6 adults comfortably yet didn't have a useful knife for food preparation- 2 serrated bread knifes just aren't good enough. Needs more things like wine glasses and general crockery. A good big double fridge which unfortunately in our room broke down...nice views over the River and would probably be lovely in good weather.
Ate at the restaurant for dinner one night and tried a second night but they seemed to be short of staff and we were told that would have to wait at least half an hour, with hungry young children this didn't work for us. Food was well prepared when we had it and reasonably priced as were drinks, by Sydney standards anyway. Breakfasts here also good and reasonably priced, we had brought breakfast things from the well stocked Woolworths in George Town so ate in the room most mornings.
Overall a very comfortable apartment, miserable weather but the apartment was big, roomy and warm so we could let the children play or watch TV. It is a good place to explore the north of the Tamar and the wineries and other attractions. I felt they were short staffed and this impacted on the place. However when we had issues the manager tried very hard to correct these and left us with a very favourable impression of his service and attempts to correct issues.
