“Lovely spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

This was the closest accommodation we could book from Hobart- the drive was very comfortable and we were glad to end in Bicheno. The park staff were lovely and very helpful and the 2 bedroom self contained cabin we stayed in was fantastic. It would have been nice to have an outdoor setting for the decking but no other suggestions as everything else was excellent. Spotlessly clean too with a great little kids playground and a quick walk to the beach, shops, pub and awesome butcher in town. Highly recommend it. No pool or gym.

Room Tip: Ask for a cabin away from main road

Not too bad for a couple of nights. Caravan sites were roomy and well maintained. The park in general is very clean and well kept. The amenities were clean and tidy, although a rather strange design for the showers with water going everywhere and not being able to adjust shower in any way, a shower curtain probably would have at least stopped some of the water spraying out. The washing machines were fine but the dryer was very low in heat and even with a small load didn't dry the clothes. Better off going to laundromat! We found the attitude of the managers could have been improved with a please or thank you on the many signs throughout the park, also the poem posted on the laundry wall, berating the park clients is probably not a good idea. The park's location is very good with easy access to all the shops and beaches. The pub up the road has delicious meals and is in walking distance.

We arrived in April and were only staying for a night. The managers were really nice and we experienced excellent customer service. We parked on our site and everyone staying here was really nice and helpful. We couldnt connect our hose to fill up the water in our camper and 3 people all came to help.

The shower block is lovely with locks on all doors, Mirrors, Hot Showers and a wash room. Everything was working fine and was clean and after hours people respected one another and kept the noise done. It was lovely. Perfect in fact.

You are very close to town and have everything you need there. We were only staying for one night and only stayed here because the campsite at Freycinet bay was full but it was really nice.

We stayed in a one bedroom cabin during the new year's eve weekend. We stayed expecting new year's eve would be noisy however when we returned to the park just after 1.00am there was not a sound to be heard other than the waves lapping on the sand at the beach which is a 5 minute walk away. The park is very clean and well run with many amenities. If staying on an unpowered tent site there is available a well equipped recreation room with cooking facilities, a refrigerator etc. Our one bedroom cabin was small, basic but very clean and nicely furnished. The only negative aspect was that there is no decking outside the door to set up a table and chair for eating outside or for sitting in the sun. Immediately outside the door is where you have to park your car. The two bedroom cabins all appeared to have their own little outdoor deck area. The park is right in the centre of the town where there is an excellent supermarket, newsagency, bakery, pharmacy, butcher and several very good eating places. A safe family beach is five minutes walk from the park and there are lots of options for nice walks around the town.

We stayed in one of the newer units and found it spacious and well equipped. The owners were in the midst of renovating the office but were welcoming when we arrived.

Our only gripe about the place was the laundry could have had longer opening hours. Otherwise a nice place to stay.

The park is right in town. Other review said 1 dryer, still 1 dryer, 3 x washing machines?!? We RV'd. Staff were friendly when we asked to move site (were put next to BBQ & all night light, when the park empty). Penguin tour next door was average, they told us on tour the season was nearly over... But still took our $. The park is close to everything like IGA, cafe, and a all-in-1 general store.

stayed in Caravan park. Did not live up to expectations. 1 drier for entire park which was broken. Managers were rude, abusive, threatening and not caring. Toitet doors did not close so a stranger accidentally walked in on my son while on the toilet.
