“Not bad but let down by horrible Internet”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

I stayed here partly because I also require the Internet to do my travel blog and write reviews. They advertised free Internet. Untrue. In addition after paying a fortune it was so slow that I maxed my quota. This completely put me off staying here. The rooms are fine and the son Alex was very nice but his father was somewhat curt with me for some reason. Breakfast great and their restaurant terrific. But I was let down horribly by the ripped off and slow Internet which cost me a fortune. Shane on you for even charging when now most hotels offer free wifi. For that alone I could never recommend this place

Hi Paul,
Our Internet is FREE in the restaurant and reception as advertised on our website. When you booked on our website you would have clearly seen "FREE Wi-Fi in the restaurant and Wi-Fi with charge in the rooms".
In your room you purchased a 7 day pass with 1.2 GB download. When you queried why it ran out the next day we both called the provider and they told us you had used all you allocation in 1 night. Using the internet for certain things can eat through your GB quickly.
After this you used the FREE internet in our restaurant at your convenience.
We are disappointing that the internet service in the room was not satisfactory for your needs.
Free Wifi in rooms is beginning to be more common and we would like to have free Wifi in the rooms but this is not possible. We regularly get positive feedback for the FREE Wifi that we do provide as you can see in other reviews.
I am glad you enjoyed the Restaurant and other parts of your stay.
Kind Regards,
Alex

This Inn is located in Kingsote, the largest city, on the island. Kingscote is not very big just a few square blocks. I stayed at this Inn just 1 night. The view of the bay, from the room was great. You are close to everything in Kinscote. The room was average and clean. There is free WIFI in the lobby. There is a charge for WIFI in the room. The Inn served dinner except on Sunday nights, the night I was there. Breakfast is also available for additional charge.

KI Seaside Inn is a short drive from the heart of Kingscote. It has nice views of the sea and provide standard amenities expected from a motel. It is clean and basic which is fine. Did not have any meals there as there are better options / value in town.

We had a room to sleep 4 people which was large enough. Some of the glasses and kettle need some cleaning. Small fridge and standard tea / coffee available.

There is nothing terrible but nothing shines either. The overall value is not there but that is the nature of KI.

Room Tip: Top floor has better views.

Arrived at KI with my family and wanted to see the hotel due to its location. The place is perfectly sized to allow the owners to give you a warm reception. The apartment we stayed was spotless and big enough, the view was amazing. Last but not least we thoroughly enjoyed dining there (normally i prefer to dine outside of hotels, but in this case we were a lot more impressed with their cooking than of the street restaurants found on Kingscote). Would definately stay there again!

Whilst a short drive in to town, the location was convenient without noise and with a great view across bay. Clean and tidy room, large for two people with small balcony. Some noise audible between rooms especially those on balcony. Restaurant convenient and friendly with good variety and liked the bonus of a discount with room voucher.

Room Tip: Upper floor has good views from balcony

KI takes quite a bit just to get there - after a long day of travel we appreciated the clean room and quiet location. Rooms are spartan and neat and very clean. We got the opportunity to do laundry as well, which can be important on a long trip. Breakfast was quite the spread as well.

Room Tip: all are ocean view - I liked the balcony (though it was a bit too chilly to enjoy it)

Stayed here 2 nights as part of a group. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Beds were excellent. Our group had meals here and the staff were great - the meals were first class. The outlook from our room and balcony was spectacular. All in all a wonderful stay. I would return here and would also highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay on Kangaroo Island.
