Great quick service (we were in right on 6pm). Food was much better then other higher rated restaurants on KI.
A bit pricey compared to mainland but hey it was better than other Mexican food we've had!

“Surprising Mexican on KI”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We were looking for an alternative to a pub meal and fish and chips, and came across Yellow Ash and Chili. The atmosphere was lovely, staff really helpful and friendly, and the food was fantastic. Better Mexican than we have had in Adelaide - tasty, fresh and not full of oil! The entree nachos were brilliant - they make the corn chips themselves - light and crunchy. Not too pricy at all - mains were around $20. Certainly much better value than the Ozone Hotel, where we paid $39 for a very small surf and turf! Highly recommend Yellow Ash and Chili for anyone visiting Kingscote - particularly great for families.

“Reasonable”

Okay food and a nice cocktail. Friendly service. Overpriced if it were on the mainland. There's not a lot of options in Kingscote

“Good for KI”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

We have eaten at a couple of places in Kingscote and fancied a change to the ubiquitous fish and chips (which is generally not very good!).
This place was a pleasant surprise. The food was really quite good and one of the better Mexicans that I have visited (I am no expert on Mexican food, though). The hot sauce was yummy!
Don't expect a mind blowing experience, but for KI it was pretty good and a welcome change.

“Tasty, pricey and slow”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

The restaurant was chosen as an alternative to an overpriced pub meal. Family - four of us for our wedding anniversary. Nice decor and atmosphere. Friendly staff and food was fresh and tasty. Too expensive for what you get, service was slow and the menu was limited - no tacos? Drinks were way too much - sangria (red wine with apple juice) 7 dollars, no soft drinks. If you want t part with lots of money quickly go for it, we enjoyed ourselves but being on holidays - returning is not an issue.
