We chose Oceans for our first Mooloolaba stay because of the fantastic reviews on TripAdvisor, and we were not disappointed. The resort is in a fabulous location, close to everything without being in the busiest strip of the Esplanade. The units are fabulous, spacious and beautifully appointed, with amazing views. The Nespresso machine in each room is a really nice touch, but I was surprised that the cost of individual pods were extra rather than included in the (not cheap) nightly rate. We were rarely out of the pool/spa area, which (along with great views) also has a great kids wading pool - only leaving to head across the road to the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful, and every aspect of the booking was smooth. My only other small gripe is that there are no BBQ facilities provided, either communal or per individual room - the asking price is $20/night for BBQ hire. Several of the other resorts, none of which are 5 star, include individual BBQs in their tariff. Overall it is a fabulous place to stay, with only a couple of small issues addressed would be perfect. I would definitely recommend it, we'll be back!

Room Tip: Poolside units initially looked appealing but people are able to look into your windows quite easily...

We do supply tea and coffee facilities the coffee pods are part of our mini bar service, the BBQ's have never been supplied within the public area of the building which is why we offer the service of hiring BBQ's in for our Guest's. Thanks to all the staff at Oceans you all made our stay the most relaxing and enjoyable family holiday. The rooms are fantastic, pool and gym facilities are faultless and the location is the centre of town. The only down side was having to leave. See you next year for sure

This was our 3rd trip to Oceans (our first with children) but we had not been in 2 & 1/2 years. Overall, the location & view are spectacular. Shops are directly below the building & everything is within walking distance. The pool & spa were kept really clean & we rarely had to share the amenities. The staff at reception are really friendly. So for all of the above I would give 10/10.
The apartment is starting to look a little tired - rugs don't look regularly cleaned for instance.
Our grievances are similar to some other people. When you pay the premium for a 5-star resort there are certain expectations. We had to pay to connect to MyPort for internet access (that kept dropping out & you would have to log in every time....). The 'daily service' was only okay. It was an obviously quick clean over that didn't involve vacuuming the rooms (really disappointing to come home & still find crumbs lying around). There is a lovely little Nescafe coffee machine but you are required to pay for the pods. Really?? At the prices the resort is charging you want $1.50 per pod? Our next issue was the audacity of them to charge for a BBQ ($20 per night). And to top it off, there is a lovely little communal area by the pool that seems like it should have a BBQ but doesn't? This just screams money-making to me & to be honest, I have stayed at 2 & 3-star resorts that have barbies. C'mon guys, don't be so tight!! There are 2 televisions but the tv in the lounge room only has the cable & the tv in the bedroom only has free-to-air (that was patchy). This seemed really strange so maybe an aerial was not working. Again though, there are expectations at a 5* resort & these were not met.
I was sooo looking forward to staying at Oceans but I feel it will be our last time. The other resorts are charging 2/3 of the price with the same view & location so I think our money will go there.

Room Tip: Make sure you stay above the 6/F as any lower you feel as if everyone on the street can see in!

We thank you for your constructive comments and it appears we have not lived up to your expectations. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and are disappointed that this was an issue during your stay. The building has never provided BBQ facilities in common areas which is why we offer the hire of a BBQ this was introduced as guests were requesting this service and are quiet happy to pay for the hire, our penthouse apartments are all equipped with roof top BBQ areas these apartment styles may suit you better should you require a BBQ.
We provide free tea and coffee facilities but the coffee pods are part of the Mini Bar Service and guests are only charged for what they use.
We apologies for the internet service and will be looking into this to rectify this problem, regarding the bedroom TV's the upgrade to digital is in the process.
We are truly sorry that your expectations were not met and hope you may reconsider in returning to Oceans.

Three days before I was due to give birth to our second son, Max we stayed at Ocean's. It was just the break we needed. The unit was luxurious, the views were magnificent and it was located right in the heart of the action.

This was our first stay in Mooloolaba. I have no doubt that this place seems to be the best of the current crop of hotels at Mooloolaba, and would stay there again, but there are a number of problems they need to sort.

Yep, great spot, directly opposite the beach, great views, great fit out in the rooms. Really comfortable, clean, overall top notch. Good pool area, pool heated, nice spa, fair gym. Sits right above the shops, so easy access to everything

But...

when you are paying $500 per night plus, the please, why do I have to pay $20 to 'rent' a BBQ ? This is meant to be a self contained apartment in Queensland. There ought to be a BBQ on each balcony, but if it is not there, then why am in paying for it ? Only a small deal, but in an expensive room, really should not happen

and then the coffee. There is a routine coffee maker in each room. Most hotels now provide either bags of pods included in the room charge, but here, you are billed $1.50 for each self made coffee (in a $500 room, please !)

then the internet. Sadly, they have opted for MyPort, which was expensive, slow and dropped out regularly. I am self employed and if I am taking two weeks away, I rely heavily on being able to access the internet each day. For reasons unclear here, I cant use my personal hotspot despite full bars of reception, on either Optus or Telstra, so I am stuck with MyPort.

Then having the room ready on the day of arrival. When you are turning up with a brood of kids, have nominated a check in time of about midday, and are still sitting in the foyer well after 2 pm, enough is enough. Room service overall was just fair. One day we were missed altogether, and other days significant portions of room cleaning were just missed

So, yes, would probably come back but since getting home we have been looking at alternatives for our next trip to Mooloolaba. Frankly, if they just fixed a few minor management and costing issues, we would go back in a heartbeat

We were recommended this hotel by a friend and were not dissapointed by any means. Prime location for Mooloola a beach and shops/restaurants. We stayed in a 2 bedroom self contained apartment on the 4th floor and it was beautifully furnished and equiped with latest gadgets. All rooms point the beach. Decent size main shower, all latest amenities in kitchen. My only complaint would be the spa bath is too small, fine if you're 5 foot tall, also its only a 1 person spa bath, and when paying so much for the room i would at least expect the coffee to be complimentary.

The spa baths in our Suites are all designed for a 1 person experience we do have available in the Penthouse Roof Top multi person outdoor spa's. We do provide Free Tea and Coffee facilities as the Coffee Pods for the Nespresso Machines are part of our Mini Bar service.

Recently stayed at Oceans and can not say enough positive feedback. The staff were incredibly accommodating and the apartment was amazing, very stylish and sleek. Fantastic views and perfect location. Highly recommended.
