“great location and attentive staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

I booked a top floor apartment for Friday and Saturday night over the weekend just past.

I was initially delighted to find the staff were very helpful for arranging an afterhours check-in as I had obligations to meet in Melbourne that afternoon.

The apartment was fresh and clean upon arrival, it had all necessary amenities and the rooftop deck was superb for a few relaxing drinks in the sun on saturday.

The price for the penthouse was $170/night, which I was delighted with, considering the prices for the nearby hotels.

I will definitely recommend Excellsior to friends and family in future.

Room Tip: I was in room 29, but any 5th level apartments would suffice as I am to believe that they all come w...

As we'd already stayed beachside at Mooloolaba we were looking for a different aspect. Yogita offered us keys to view 2 apartments. Room 27 on the top floor had a rooftop patio and a good wraparound balcony with access from both the bedroom and dining/lounge area. Great canal views - a bit shady. We particularly appreciated thegreat shower pressure, bathroom vaniety light , full length mirrored wardrobe doors and free washing machine powder. Sure it's a bit dated , the lift creaks and the pool and spa weren't heated during our stay but it's great value with friendly staff and handy to everything. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher canal side room.( The side opposite reception)

Arrived here for 2 nights stay. Musty smelling ground floor unit. Clearly not been occupied for some time Dead ants on bathroom windowsill. Views? Well, bedroom window looks out onto noisy Backpackers common room. No iron or ironing board. And garage apparently unavailable because owner has his stuff stored in it. Disappointing..

Room Tip: Unit 1 looks directly into what appears to be backpackers common room.

Great location, short walking distance from the main beach and cafe / shop area while being far enough away that its nice and quiet. We had a ground floor room but still had good view over the water and higher floors would have been better views. The rooms are dated, still with the 80s cane furniture but the apartments and clean and spacious, we had a one bedroom apartment with plenty of room for the two of us, large bathroom, living/dining and kitchen space plus a outdoor veranda.

The pool is pleasant and clean but again the pool furniture is abit dated.

We thought that the lady that checked us in and out was great, very friendly and insightful with information and gave a great sense of arrival and departure.

Yes the rooms are old but the place is clean and with the great staff, this can all be overlooked :)

Lovely quite location, easy walking distance to services and Restaurants, rooms are tastefully appointed and spacious. We will be back every year as Mooloolaba is such a wonderful place.

50 words minimum - cannot think how to blurb on. Should be an option without the restriction - otherwise noone will complete. Ah well i will just say - walk to the beachfront - see the shops - walk home again and this is important. Request a high unit (Corner) with a northerly aspect.

The rooms were of a satisfactory standard for price but we were quoted for an 8 day stay and paid for that, after 7 days they decided that they had miss quoted and we needed to pay for another night or move out. It was as simple as that even though they admitted their mistake.
Those issues aside we did not get one ray of sunshine in our room for the duration of the trip so if booking be sure to request a room that will get some sun at some stage of the day.
The Excellsior is handy to everything and we were given friendly directions to anywhere we wanted to go and do.
Just watch the quotes as that certainly took the shine of our holiday.

Room Tip: get a room overlooking the river NOT the canel
