We were not impressed overall
We had been in Mooloolaba for a week and sampled some good local food and service.
It was obvious we were going to spend some dollars there when we ordered some sparkling and Red and enquired re the entrees and mains.
We ordered some drinks and a shared entree, the Garlic and Chilli prawns arrived and it was quite good.
We both had the 200g Eye Fillet on a bed of mash with accompanying veggies.
The eye fillet started out ok and was reasonable but in places it was chewy and dry and we didn't finish either.
The veggies were tasteless, especially the carrots which appeared to us to be microwaved.
After the mains, the plates were cleared and we continued the enjoy the red but were not approached regarding desert or coffee, despite being willing and despite our continued glances to service staff who were more intent on clearing other tables including two right next to us.
We went to this restaurant in 2010 and were pleased with the experience.
We note that this establishment was voted 2010 and 2011 best local restaurant.
Our impression now is that they have a healthy serve of complacency.

“Excellent !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

This restaurant is located very near the Mantra Mooloolabah. The food was excellent and we were served by a delightful waitress who was attentive to everyone's needs.

“Best Seafood Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

I was here on a short escape from work from Sydney and was looking for a nice restaurant with great food. After passing through many restaurants on the esplanade I settled down at M reluctantly as I never had been in this restaurant before. I ordered Thai Style Chicken/Crab dumplings for entree and Tempura Mooloolaba King Prawns for mains. The food was really delicious and customer services one of the best I ever had. The waitress was really polite and keen to serve in the best possible manner. If I ever come back to this place or have a function, would love to dine at this place again in front of beautiful pacific ocean....Cheer

“Was OK, but nothing extraordinary.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

We arrived in town during the busiest period of the Summer looking for somewhere to eat on a Friday night. Sauntering along the beachfront we walked past many full restaurants and settled on the not so full M @ Mooloolaba as the menu was varied and the place had a table.

We managed to snaffle a table inside near the aircon, as it was extremely humid outside.

The service was brisk and adequate, but pre-dinner drinks did take a little too long considering how hot it was and that they were not that busy.

Meals ordered were:-
Lemon Scented Chicken & Gnocchi (Chicken dry, gnocchi was awesome)
Pork belly and Scallops in Asian spices ( BIG dish, quite rich)
Scallops, Prawns with Gnocchi (Very nice dish - probably the best one)
Macadamia crusted Barramundi (Special of the day - Fish was farmed and a little more muddy in taste than usual)

Our waitress was very good, giving is great service throughout the meal. We were a bit miffed when a table next too us got there meals a good 10 mins before us, and they had sat down around 15 mins after we did. The whole affair just seemed to drag on considering we only ordered mains.

Overall, I rate the place as just above average. The food was OK, not outstanding and yet with drinks (only 3 people drank) it cost just on $50 a head. Drinks inc 2 cocktails, 2 wines and 2 beers and 1 soft drink.... close to half the bill.

“Best food on the Sunny Coast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013 via mobile

Coming from Melbourne & eating out at least twice a week we had nice food here on the Dunny Coast but nothing compared to M. The bread was made fresh & tasted as good as I have had in France. Chilli prawns to die for, pasta was amazing & steak well cooked. I can not believe there was a bad review as my husband and I havent stopped talking about this place since our visit. We are now in Noosa on holidays & will be driving half hour just to eat at this resturant.
It is a little pricey but so worth it if you want fresh & beautifully flavoured food.
Must try!
