“Extremely Impressive!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2009

During our trip to Bribane, we plan a 2 night stay at Mantra Mooloolaba,Sunshine Coast. We booked a 2 bedroom apartments through our travel agent back home. It has a decent kitchen, dining, living area and a long balcony. With a unit given on the 13th Floor, we had the best of Ocean and Pool View. My family were impressed with the layout & cleanliness of the apartment. Alfresco style restaurants, cafes and clubs are just a walk away. And not forgetting, a Coles supermarket just behind the Mantra.
Will surely be back again!

We stayed in a 1 Bedroom Studio apartment for 3 nights in June. The room was quite adequate - having a balcony overlooking the water (amazing view), kitchenette, spa, small tv and bedroom. On the plus side, the location is fantastic - you can literally walk downstairs and have all the shops, restaurants, cafes and beach you could ever want. On the negative side, the bed was TERRIBLE - very uncomfortable, cheap, unsupported and sagged so much in the middle you felt like you were sleeping on a slope.

The parking facilities were very good, and there is a Coles supermarket next door which is very handy.

All in all, we had a good time, although we didn't sleep very well. Would recommend the hotel to others on the proviso that they request a decent bed.

I originally booked other accommodation for our trip in Maroochydore before discovering trip advisor by accident. After reading the poor reviews on the accommodation I had booked, I cancelled that and went with the great reviews on the Mantra. We weren't dissapointed. The location was fantasic. Right on the doorstep of all the restaurants and shops along the strip. The apartment was clean and had a great balcony with amazing ocean views. The staff very very friendly and it was nice and quiet. The only dissapointing thing was some of the gym equipment needed repair. I would definately stay here again!!

This is a really great place to stay in Mooloolaba. We almost didn't stay here after reading some poor reviews but are happy we decided to take the punt. It has to be noted that these are really serviced apartments and not 5 star hotel rooms so there are signs of being lived in. If I owned the apartment we stayed in I would rip up the carpet and put in floorboards but a few stains on the carpet was not a great problem. The views are sensational, the location is second to none and the staff are great. We have two young children and found it very beneficial to be completely self contained and such a short walk to the beach and shops. The pool and spa are excellent too.

There is no exception to the fact that this hotel is fit for demolition; complete with unhelpful staff, the most disappointing accommodation and of course, deplorable leisure facilities.
Upon our arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by what was to the best of my recollection a rather sour toad of a receptionist; who made it her every intention to screw up her face at my accent. After hauling a mere fourteen luggage bags up the elevator with no assistance from the staff, we were struck by what was in simple terms: disgust.
Having paid for a top floor apartment with sea views we were indeed provided with what we asked for. Yet I couldn't help but wonder, why am I paying a premium for this? The room before us was what you'd expect at a two star motel; hardly a 'Mantra' for good taste that's for sure.
The spa facilities were out of service and appeared to have been left abandonned from care and attention for God only knows how long.
Want slime and grime that'll cost far from a dime? Then this hotel could be the ideal location for you. Otherwise, it's fit for demolition! This hotel is a more of a disaster than a 'Mantra'. Save your hard earned savings, and go elsewhere!

The rooms were spacious, clean with a beautiful sea views. The pool was lovely ,clean and refreshing with a hot and cold spa at the pool perimeter. The hotel gardens were well tended with discreet barbecue and seating areas around the grounds. The foyer was large and spacious with a shopping area leading out onto the Esplanade. The receptionists were friendly and courteous as were all the hotel employees that we met.
We would certainly stay at the Mantra if we were back in Mooloolaba.

We stayed at Mantra in a 1 bedroom apartment for 2 nights back in 2007. I was an average stay so I didn’t bother with a review. This time around it’s a different story.

We were married in Caloundra in November and being from Victoria, were not planning a honeymoon. Upon hearing this tidbit of information, my new husband’s boss decided to surprise us with a 2 night stay in a 2 bedroom penthouse suite.

Excited, newly married, and after waiting ages for the lift, we headed up to our room. On the floor outside the room lay some paper circles from some party poppers. They never moved. Having just come from Pumicestone Blue Resort in Caloundra, we were shocked. For what was $500+/night it was appalling.

The apartment was large, a little dingy towards the back, with a long balcony that overlooked the water. Stairs led up to a tiny rooftop courtyard with a BBQ, spa and worn decking chairs. The bathroom was nothing spectacular. Neither was the bedroom. The pillows were terrible.

The carpet was stained and the rooms smelled musty. One arm of the couch was torn, the other arm heavily stained with visible coffee cup rings, the seats were also stained with the occasional hole. It was that grimy I seriously considered covering it with a blanket. The television was tiny and the remote batteries flat. The walls seemed paper thin and we managed to get neighbours who liked to chat and play music into the early hours.

On the plus side, it is well located, the kitchen was large and well stocked with coffees, teas etc. I also like their complimentary bathroom products, especially the lemongrass soap. The staff also did give us an extended checkout.

Overall, not really a place I’d recommend for anyone looking to relax, do not go near the place for a romantic getaway or honeymoon. I think it might be more suited to families. The only reason I wasn’t more upset was because we weren’t paying.
