5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2011

the whole experience from booking the room and getting exactly the room i wanted on the 11th floor was first class. The friendly staff, the room and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on,the the way the whole resort was meticulously maintained. I have travelled the world and i must say I could not fault the resort in any way.My next holidays I only get about a week per year is going to be at the mantra, hopefully in the same room. well done to management J Couch Sydney

We travelled with a 9 month old and wanted a nice, short, relaxing trip away for the weekend and we were not disappointed with the Mantra. The way the room was set up it was perfect for travellers with an infant, as the bedroom was away from the lounge area. We had a beautiful ocean view room with a rounded spa bath that could look into the lounge and also a view of the ocean. I had read in previous reviews that cleanliness had been a problem on some occasions but this wasn't the case for us. The location is truly convenient, as we didn't have to worry about trying to find a park on beach front stretch. Staff were friendly and helpful with our enquires. We got the room at a bargain price ($250 for two nights, room only) and we were very happy with our experience.
If like us you have young children and are not able to go out of an evening for a meal I highly recommend going to the Spit for fresh seafood or take out fish and chips.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights on a $99 night deal which included a bottle of sparkling - we left this in the room as it's not one we would drink. I had requested an ocean view room if possible, this wasn't granted, and I wasn't really expecting it for the price. I had requested a quiet room, which by hotel noise standards it really was fairly quiet - the occasional door slamming and people carrying on in the hallway. But the real disappointment was the garbage trucks both mornings at 7am, and not quickly up the street, but taking it's time emptying all the bottles clink clink clink!!!! We'd gone for a sleep in basically, this wasn't granted...
The room was a good size, although it was very dark, there was no window in the bedroom. The kitchen had a microwave and bar fridge, although I wouldn't want to have to cook a meal there. Everything was clean, although the tiles on the bathroom and entry floor are a colour that just looked dirty, although they weren't. They are the let down as it seems they've done the rest of the unit up.
Its made very clear in the hotel compendium that what is in the room is all you get - if you need more of anything then you have to pay for it. I wouldn't want to stay here more than a couple of days having to use those towels which don't dry properly during the day. No room servicing which we usually don't use anyway but it's nice to be able to have an extra towel per person.
Check in was fine, check out the lady wasn't really interested in finding out how our stay was or anything else. For the money, it was ok value. Next time I'll pay a little more and try another location in Mooloolaba though.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for our short honeymoon break straight after our wedding. We got a lovely room on the 12th floor with amazing views of the ocean. We stayed there with our 15 month old daughter and she loved the freedom of walking out onto the balcony to see the views. The spa bath was huge which we enjoyed. Lots of cafes right downstairs and Coles right next door which was handy.
The only dissapointment we had was that when I booked our room I mentioned a few times it was our honeymoon and not once when we arrived did we get congratulated. My hubby even tried to organise a bottle of bubbly and chocolates for our room as a surprise for our arrival however was unable to do so as he was required payment in full by credit card as this isn't something they normally do? We also tried to arrange a late checkout when we booked our room so that our daughter could have a nap before we travelled home and were told that they would only arrange this for a further fee.
Otherwise our stay was lovely and relaxing....

Dear kazajase,

Congratulations on your recent celebration of marriage and thank you for choosing to stay at Mantra Mooloolaba Beach for your honeymoon break, I am disappointed that your honeymoon was not acknowledged during your stay and I have communicated this to our guest service representatives, I apologise that your husband was unsuccessful in arranging bubbly and chocolates on arrival, it is common practice for our teams to organise these special requests and I have also reminded our team of this.

I appreciate you taking the time to post a review and am pleased that you had a lovely and relaxing stay, enjoying the resorts views, location, apartment cleanliness and proximity to the vibrant cafe culture.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

We booked a great deal at the Mantra in Mooloolaba after reading about it on Trip Advisor and we had particularly noted the Manager's quick responses. We requested and got a great ocean view room and received a welcome telephone message from the Manager. Our room was lovely, the location of the Mantra was fabulous - there is everything you need within a few minutes walk - restaurants, supermarket, surf club, pub and shops - even though the weather was not great, it was a very relaxing few days.

We booked last minute via half price spa package. We had a one bedroom on 3rd floor right in the middle with a great sea view. Weather was perfect considering it is 'winter' so this helps a great deal when you are welcomed on the balcony by sizzling blue skies and beach front views. Room was perfect, better than last stay so may have had a re-furb. Huge bed, kitchen if required [shower still annoying that you have to climb in the bath, despite being a lovely spa bath.] Comfy large sofa and TV in lounge and bedroom. We had wine, chockies and spa toiletries package thrown in. This apartment [it is not a hotel by the way] is in the very best location. You can safely park underground and walk to loads of restaurants, cafe's, shops etc. Supermarket right next door, surf clubs very close for great food. Go to Maroochy on Cotton Tree, its a lovely safe beach. Indoor and outdoor pools/spa's etc.

We did not stay the extra night. We would have used the same linen and room with no extra cost for an extra night. When we got home we had another offer from Mantra for $105 and champagne and since then more offers. (You have to laugh) . The receptionist said the deal is finished and will be $149 for the extra night. We actually enjoyed out stay as it was handy to restaurants. We are retired and travel a lot and pop away for a few days when we feel like it and as we would have probably gone back again. Interesting - you can see why the Australian public goes overseas for value.

Thank you for taking the time to post feedback regarding your stay, I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay and the resorts location though I am regretful that we could not accommodate you for the second night of your stay. Unfortunately we are not always able to extend the special offers and I appreciate the disappointment this would have caused.
