“Disgraceful! Do Not Stay Here!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

We rang ahead and booked our overnight stay at Kyamba Crt a fews days prior to our arrival and spoke with Dallas. Upon arrival we were disappointed to find a run down, dated motel. We entered reception and again we're greeted by Dallas the hotel owner and manager, her manner was the rudest most unprofessional I have ever experienced! Quite taken aback and after a few minutes of integration of our plans whilst staying and being ordered to read and sign a terms and conditions form, we were told to give a $200 deposit on the room, which we had already paid for days before, spoken with her on the telephone without her mentioning a word, nor was or is it wriitten any where on the website, or in the terms and conditions we had just signed. When we tryed to discuss this with her she told us to go and stay somwhere else if we would not give her the $200 and that our $125 ( which is the cost per night )was non refundable! Two grown professional adults (after handing over the $200 for the sake of peace) were then marched around the hotel premises , even though after our 5hr car drive i had said that i was eager to use the loo & my partner had a function in 45min, Dallas forced us to "follow her" whilst she rant and raved and pointed out lamanated sign after lamenated signs all over the premises high lighting the do's and donts, all written in a rude and completley inappropriate manner. Finally we got to the Spa and we are told the is a 45 min max usage limit, that we were not to touch any buttons.....at this point i let out a lil laugh in dis beleif of the situation and she turned around and Yelled at me " Listen here, you better change your attitude lady" Oh My God!!! Any way we spent our 1 night terrified of her and the next day at check out we went to hand her the keys and she went and made us stand around whilst she inspected our room for 20 minutes, checking the bins, stripped the bed down to the mattress, beyond the mattress protector! I entered the room to see what she was doing and she told me i had to" leave the room whilst it was being inspected". Our stay was terrible, horrible. The room was very average, very uncomfortable, aged and weathered along with the premises. Dallas the only staff member we met was an absolute nightmare beyond anyone i have ever met! and i have never payed to be so disresecpted and patronised in my life. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dallas is the friendliest warmest person you should ever wish to meet. From the moment you walk in the door you are made to feel at home, and very very welcome, especially by "sir" her beautiful Rottweiler. The rooms are spotless, and Dallas goes beyond her duties as host, she will become your friend for life as I have found. I stayed with her for 4 weeks and was happier to stay on longer but I rented a home nearby and to this day we remain close friends. I recommend anyone and everyone to stay here. The beds are comfy and, the rooms are kept immaculate. It's positioned right on the river and the view is spectacular as it has its own private pontoon. Do your self a favor when visiting mooloolabah, and stay at this amazing place that I can only refer to as being my second home.

Staying here for four nights, we really felt like personal guests of Dallas. She is the heart of Kyamba Court Motel and runs things in a relaxed and efficient way. Conversation is great, advice about the area spot on. We especially appreciated arriving to a super clean and comfortable room with bikkies, tea and coffee in the room. The breakfast area is a covered outdoor kitchen with tables by the pool and the canal on a lovely patio. Toast and spreads, juice and tea were a quick way to get moving each morning. The motel is an easy walk from the beach and esplanade, as well as a little take away restaurant area. Our son used the fishing pole to try his luck in the canal! Kyamba Court is an excellent choice in Mooloolaba; we would definitely return.

Room Tip: The room we had included a queen bed and a single bed. The family room has an additional set of bun...

Not only is Kyamba Court minutes walk to the beach and the main cafe & shopping precinct, every other possible need is catered for within very close proximity. The owner, Dallas is abundantly welcoming, and makes it her priority that you thoroughly enjoy your stay. She will spend quality time with you to ensure you get the most out of your visit to Mooloolaba and the surrounding district. The Motel is set up superbly with a 'camp kitchen' on the banks of the canal which becomes a natural meeting place for guests to share a chat over a coffe or better still, a glass of wine. To find such a comfy place to stay at an incredibly reasonable price is a rarity these days, and we will make Kyamba Court our choice when we return to the Sunshine Coast.

We're from the USA and my wife and I stayed here five nights from May 9 through May 13, 2012 and could not have been more pleased with our choice. We were joined by friends from the Melbourne area for our stay.

It's convenient to everything and less than an easy 10 minute walk to the beach. Convenience stores and other shops are less than 5 minutes walk across the canal bridge.

We treasured each morning waking up and going to the veranda by the pool, overlooking the canal at sunrise to have coffee and tea and then fix our breakfast at the well equipped kitchen area. In the evening, around sundown, we were back on the veranda for wine and cheese with our friends until late in the evening.

Dallas, the owner personally sees to your every need and constantly inquires if you need anything. If you do, it's done immediately with a smile. Treat her and her facility with respect and it's returned to you ten fold. And don't fail to make friends with her lovable dog "Sir". We looked forward to seeing him each morning.

We plan on returning to the Sunshine Coast in two years and will look no further than The Kyamba. Dallas made our first trip to Australia a memorable and pleasant experience.

Room Tip: This is a small 8 room facility and all rooms are equally good.

Stayed in this motel in Decemeber 2011 - Great location less than a 10 minute walk to the main strip of Mooloolaba - which is where all the cafes etc are & not far from the harbour.

Motel room was very clean & spacious. 1 double bed and 1 single bed. If the single bed is messed up though you will have to pay extra money as cleaner would have to wash sheets / remake it. Pool area & outdoor area is fantastic - the motel is right next to the bridge and at the back is a canal. There is a smokers area which is set back abit away from the room which is very good.

Communal fridge with bread, butter, spreads, milk etc you can help yourself too - also a communal kitchen area with tea / coffee etc !! The pool is lovely and nice sunbeds around it - there also is an outdoor spa which was brillant as well !!

Probably the best motel and even out of hotels we have stayed at on the Sunshine Coast - am reccomending it to everyone I know !!

Dallas is a great hostess - friendly and looks after the motel very well which you can tell !!
