“Very convenient!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We don't usually stay in Gympie but needed to break up an overnight trip. We decided to stay here because of it's location - it was a good choice. The room itself is probably a little dated but was extremely clean and functional. It was also quite large. I had an issue with the firmness of the bed but this is an individual opinion as my husband thought it was quite comfortable. I was also surprised at how quiet the room was even though it's basically right on the main road - slight bit of noise but only when the trucks went past. The main delight of this place was actually the restaurant! It was very quaint and cosy - we only wanted a light meal but the entrees were reasonably priced and very filling. And the beer was icy cold! Instant hit :) The room rate was very reasonable and the lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. A great place, really, to break up the monotony of the Bruce Highway.

We stayed overnight on our way through Gympie. The Motel is no longer young but its bones are good. Our room was well appointed with sliding doors to an outside courtyard area which was private and not overlooked.

Have stayed at this motel several times en route north and south - experiences over Xmas/New Year were mixed, with first trip interrupted by the cleaners having a noisy meeting soon after 7am (given I'd arrived at 1am, this didn't go down too well). Second trip was much better, quiet room, well looked after by Derek who does a great job of knowing and remembering faces.

Value for money is always good, and always made to feel looked after.

Stayed here just one night. Rooms are a little dated but clean. We could hear the Baby crying in the room next door and them leave at 4:30am in the morning. NO road noise which was good. Beds comfy. Room service breakfast was good. Pool could have been cleaner and gardens could do with some attention. Staff were good. Overall not too bad.

Nice motel. Not the fist time using Golden Chain and certainly not the last.
Room was large, just like all other golden chains I used.
Manager was helpfull, funny in his own akward way, but called us boys while we are 32+.
Bed was great and had a good night sleep. Shower was hot but a bit strange, you have to jump in strangely.
Good telly and can sit outside with nice flowers for your breakfast.
Roomrate was 100aussie dollar for 2 persons 2 beds.

Can recommand this motel and will use it again.

Room Tip: Room 16 was good, but think all rooms in that surrounding are good. Car is in the shadow.

We recently obtained the last available room at a time Gympie was "locked in" by flooding south and north

How lucky we were to find a warm welcome and a lovely room - free wifi and an outdoor seating area (which we couldn't use because of the rain)

The location was great given that there was an alternative route between it and the town centre during flooding of the Bruce Highway
