“Good room, good restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012 via mobile

Stayed two nights at the Town House Sundowner and will happily repeat the experience in the future. Clean room, robust internet, excellent shower and bathroom, and excellent restaurant. If you enjoy seafood with your pasta, I recommend the seafood spaghetti - nicely done. Lisa is an attentive hostess and was attentive to our smallest requests. The location is excellent and convenient to everything.

Stayed one night on business. Check-in was quick and friendly. They didn't require me to fill in a form - just relied on credit card imprint and my mobile phone number which I gave them on making the booking. No real reason why all motels can't do this.
Chose this motel because of its central location and reasonably upmarket appearance and wasn't disappointed. There are several nearby motels that could be classified as "budget" but this one was comfortably in the 3.5 to 4 star category and value at $108 for the night. Given that motels in western Qld tend to be booked out through the week and regularly charge upwards of $120 this was very reasonable.
Rooms are relatively spacious, beds how I like them (firm but not worn out) and all of the fittings were well maintained. Air conditioner was one of the old style units that could be an issue in the summer. Restaurant looks like it is fairly upmarket, with mains around the $30 mark but there were some cheaper options, especially for room service.
Location is very good, being a two block walk to three of the town's pubs; two of which have a good name for their meals (Victoria and Royal). No real traffic noise here as the highways are diverted around the town. Overall a satisfying stay and will be back next time

Room Tip: tends to be first in best dressed with room allocation and parking. I got an upstairs room which was...

Grant,

Thank you for taking the time to rate our hotel.

We trust you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. On your next visit we will try and assist with a downstairs unit, but we have some guests that enjoy the upstairs units to avoid human traffic walking past their unit.

Regards,
Lisa and David.

In Goondiwindi for one night on business I stayed only the one night. Check in was fast and friendly, room is a good size with good furnishings. The restaurant attached to the motel is priced quite upmarket I only had a soup and desert because I wasn't very hungry. Food was well prepared and service friendly. Overall a great place to stay I would stay here again.

Very friendly service from David and Lisa. Comfortable, clean rooms at a very reasonable rate. Our stay was at the begining of winter and we had more than enough warm bedding. Visited the restaurant attatched for dinner. Excellent meal, would have had more than enough food with just entree and dessert but we were glad we shared a main because it was worth it. David quite happy to expand his expertise at the bar and whipped us up a couple of "fluffy ducks". Excellent!
My daughter is moving to the area and David and Lisa have extended their country hospitality to her if she needs any help settling in. Will be very happy to stay again.

Service was very good on arrival and very helpful as when we arrived we were informed that the restaurant was closed (public holiday), but we were offered some places to go to get a good feed. Just a short walk down the street got us a great feed, while we waited for our room to call down with the air-con. Rooms were clean and tidy and a good size. Appearance of motel was immaculate.
