“Clean and comfortable, handy to everything.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

We've stayed here for the Hell of the West triathlon for the last two years and have always found the rooms clean, comfortable and with everything you really need for a quick stay. We have never found the road/highway noise to be a problem and have always had a peaceful stay. Ok so I did notice the receptionist was a little curt with us the first year, but this year was quite different which was nice. Having the service station (ok, and Maccas too..) right next door, as well as Subway across the road was really handy. Never had a bad experience here, it is more than adequate for a couple of nights stay, especially for the triathlon.

We often stay overnight on our way to Brisbane, this motel is one of the cleanest you will ever find and the general overall reception is excellent...
The rooms are spacious the beds are comfortable or though we do prefer a King Bed over the Queen...
We were initially concerned about traffic noise, but find we were not bothered later in the evening when the trucks on the highway became less frequent, we live on a main highway so we are used to noise through the night, but seriously it is not a major issue here...
We have not dined at the Motel so cannot comment on the food service, being from the Outback we enjoy a McDonalds when we hit town and it is right next door, Goondiwindi is a very pleasant and friendly town, well worth the stop...

The good; Room is clean and the fittings are new. The bathroom is mould free.
The bad; the compression braking of the trucks on the main road. It does keep you awake. the "queen bed" is tiny.

The need for improvement; customer service. On checking in the mature female receptionist was very curt with her query whether is was just my husband and I. She peered over her counter inspecting our car for stowaways. On check out the mature male receptionist did not bother to bid us a safe trip home or enquire if the room was ok. He was more concerned about where the electricity room tag was. At $160 a night two night minimum, he could have at least fained an interest. FYI- the lock on the door is loose, but don't let that worry you.

If town is not booked out, I would try something off the main road so that you get a good nights sleep.

This motel was a surprise. I was expecting it to be grubby and noisy. However, it was neither. The motel is located right on the highway next door to McDonalds and a BP service station, but I really couldn't hear any extra noise from any of that. The staff were nice and the room was serviced very well while we were out during the day. The room itself was really nice, very clean and had everything you could want. Yes it is basic, but for a motel it is very good. The only thing that did slightly annoy me was that the tv on the wall could've been put on one of those swinging brackets so that it could be moved so you can watch it from the couch and dining area...but really that's it. I thought the soap and other dispensers in the bathroom were a good idea. Undercover parking right outside your front door is good.

We have stayed here 3 times when travelling up and back from Melbourne to Sunshine Coast.
Spacious rooms, very clean and very comfortable beds. Another benefit to us is being able to order a nice meal delivered to the room. Just what you need after a long drive. Like other reviewers I was concerned about road noise but found our sleep was not disturbed as the rooms are well insulated. Will definately stay here again.

I must admit that when I first saw the Hotel I was worried about it location. Its next to McDonalds and a major Truck Stop and on the highway with a roundabout so you could hear the trucks applying their air brakes as they slowed down.

The room was surprisingly quiet and I had a good nights sleep. The free wifi was useless as it didnt work in my room. The TV reception and foxtel was good and the room was large and well appointed, The airconditioner was good. I didnt like liquid soap dispensers in the bathroom, I prefer real soap.

The price was OK but next time I stay in Goondiwindi I will probably stay in the centre of the town. I didnt realise that trucks are banned from the main st CBD area and must use the town bypass road. So the centre of town was really quiet and nice.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms at the rear of the complex, but just remember that the wifi wont work there,.

Stayed one night en-route to Brisbane. Reception staff and Hosts are very friendly and courteous.
I was concerned about highway noise but my concern proved to be wrong as our sleep was not distrubed by road noise, the rooms are well insulated, spacious and very clean.
The signal strength for the Free Wi Fi was weak in our room but not a problem in the bar/restaurant.
We ate our evening meal in the restaurant finding it of excellent quality and well priced.
Would stay again at this motel.
