Five of us tried the new owners menu today for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised and will be going back again. They advertise a seafood lunch menu and a dinner menu with a variety of dishes as well as some seafood dishes. We asked if we could have a few things from the dinner menu and this wasn't a problem. The only problem was trying to choose what to order as we now had two menus and everything sounded so good! We all had an entre plus mains, with Verdelho from their own winery (Bawley Vale Wines). Entres consisted of a pot of mussels, pesto with bread, pork jowl (the best sauce and melt in your mouth pork), crab bruschetta with coriander and chilli. For mains we chose the pork cutlet, goat curry, clam and barramundi chowder and beef fillet. All delicious. The service was very personal, being served by the owners themselves, who filled us in with information on their own wines and animals which that they are breeding on their farm at Bawley Point to add to the menu.
We are locals and are so pleased that their is another quality restaurant in town. Our other favourite is St Isador's at Milton. We would probably put the food at Millards close the the standard of St Isadores but with more quantity and slightly more reasonable pricing. It definitely beats Rick Steins at Bannisters for value, with a very similar quality in the dishes. We have heard the chef is ex Rick Steins and this shows. Looking forward to a return visit.
