“A wine tasting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

Fantastic location and knowledgeable staff. The wines were quite expensive but very drinkable with the Semillon beeing my pick.

Thank yo for your review. Can't agree more, there is no better way to spend a cool winters day then cuddling up to the fire with food and wine. Thanks for your kind works on our service and food. We appreciate yo taking the time to comment. Hope to see you back here for the summer experience.

“A Great Lunch with Friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

On a cool and windy day we where nice and toasty sitting under the heater sampling some of the local wines and having a relaxed meal. The service and attention of the staff was very good and the food was top rate. This is the second time we have been here and would highly recommend it
to anyone who enjoys good food and good wine and good friends. Thank you for a lovely Day.

We are big fans of the good food, good wine and good friends combination. Is there a better way to spend a day? Thanks for your lovely review and for coming to us twice. We hope to see you for a third time soon.

“Good Food with a view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

We did a wine tasting at the cellar door before having lunch in the restaurant. I have eaten there once before so I knew the food was going to be good. My husband and I had the mid week 2 course special which included a glass of wine. The view to Pigeon House Mountain is a stunning backdrop too!!!

Thank you for your review. I am disappointed to hear that you didn't have a great experience at Cupitt's. Currently we have one sweet wine available for tasting at the Cellar Door. It is a late harvest wine (made like the German wine known as trockenbeerenauslese) where the grapes are picked as dry berries. This wine is most suited to strong cheese or desserts but many people find that it is not too concentrated and can drink it with their meal. We have another sweeter wine we have made called 'Sweet Savannah' Verdelho, we are low in stock so this is not available for tasting but is available in the restaurant. This year we are making a sweet rose which should be available by summer 2013. Our wines generally are a drier style and made as food wines, however, we do understand that many people prefer a sweeter style wine so we do our best to accommodate everyone's tastes. We are currently in a period where our sweeter style wines are low in stock but we look forward to releasing some new sweeter wines at the end of the year.
