We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Oaks Boathouse Tea Gardens. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on the third floor. The property is lovely. The apartments are spacious very modern and new. The kitchen has a dishwasher microwave and all crockery cutlery glassware and saucepans provided. Complimentary dishwasher and washing up liquid provided to get you started. There are 2 televisions with foxtel in the apartment 1 in the living room 1 in the master bedroom. The bathrooms x 2 were clean and large with a spa bath provided in the ensuite bathroom. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Towels provided. There is a full laundry with washer and dryer in the apartment. There are 2 split system air conditioners which ensured we stayed cool. The apartments are not serviced daily but I think this can be arranged if you want to. For us it wasn't an issue. The balcony is huge with comfy table and chairs to take in the lovely view over Myall lake and the swimming pool. The bottom floor apartments do not have a view of the lake but have the advantage of having their own access to the pool from the balcony. The pool is great very narrow but long enough to swim laps and with a small beach sandy area and shallow end for the kids. Not a lot of pool chairs but this is not a huge resort and we never had a problem finding somewhere to sit around the pool. There is no restaurant on the porperty but with your own kitchen and BBQ facilities available this was not a problem. Tea gardens itself is very quiet and small. There is one supermarket and the lake road has a pub an ice cream shop and a few restaurants. The 4-5 min drive into hawksnest takes you to lovely beaches. Tea Gardens provided us with peace, lovely walks along the lake and good spots to throw the line out. We did a dolphin watch tour and a boat trip over to Nelson Bay which is about 1 hour away from Tea Gardens.
Overall this is a great place to stay to get away from it all. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Everything worked everything was spotlessly clean, including carpets. In fact this was probably the most relaxing holiday we have ever had. Thanks oaks boathouse, we will be back.

We stayed at Oaks Boathouse overnight on the way to Canberra from the Gold Coast. We booked literally at the last minute and only chose Oaks because it was basically the only accommodation in that region we could find that we could stay just for a single night and wasn't going to cost a fortune (we booked on wotif.com). What a very pleasant surprise we received.
Eight hours in the car with kids, including the standard several toilet stops and occasional backseat arguements, meant we were really looking for a comfortable break for the night. Oaks more than delivered on that front.
Our apartment was large (a three bedroom unit but with one room locked off as we had booked only for two bedrooms), clean, very comfortable and had great views over the pool to the water. Sitting on the balcony in the evening and again in the morning was a real battery charger and just the thing to set us up for the remainder of our trip.
We arrived late but rang on the way and were given very clear and easy to follow after hours check-in instructions. In the morning we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
Having never stayed in the area we were also taken by the comfortable and laid back feel of the area.
Overall we would recommend Tea Gardens for a relaxing weekend visit and would highly recommend the Oaks Boathouse as the place to stay. Location, quality of apartments and friendliness of staff were first rate.

We spent an extended long-weekend at the Boathouse. We stayed there last year so we knew what to expect. Lots of peace and quiet, rooms are very spacious with all the mod-cons and all very neat and tidy and we also had a huge balcony looking over the pool and over the Myall river. The property itself is quite new and modern.

Ammenities look great even though we didn't use them. The location is very peaceful itself, so it is great if you want to getaway and relax. There is a small shopping centre just as you get into Tea Gardens so it is a good idea to pick up a few things to cook as the kitchen in the room is well-equipped. There is an excellent restaurant (Tillermans) down the road from the Boathouse, the food there is highly recommended and as good as any higher-end restaurant in Sydney.

All in all a great little holiday getaway.

The Boathouse - Tea Gardens is a wonderful place to stay at. The friendly & helpful staff make it all the more pleasant.

It is a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The rooms overlooking the lake and pool are great!

Thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to 'get away' and relax as the atmosphere allows for all of that.
