Sambal is a nice place to go in the Spring & summer since they also have outdoor seating. I always notice a bunch of other Malaysians, the staff are mostly Malaysian (from what I can tell) and the food is quite authentic.
Like any restaurant they have some good dishes and bad ones. The char kway teow is good, the laska is good (tried it a fair bit and it seemed better when I went during the week) as well as some other small dishes like the loh bak.
Also have a range of deserts and sweets and of course Tiger beer (bottled).
Pretty decent value - not as cheap as Malaysian restaurants in the city.
