“regular at the Bounty, best motel in Lismore”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2010

I am a regular at the Bounty, I often travel to Lismore for Business and have stayed at a few of the other motels and the Bounty is the best by far. It is modern, the rooms are spacious and are kept very clean. The hotel has a Restaurant, I have ate there a couple of times, the meals were good but are a little over priced. The staff are polite and helpful, at one stage I booked a room for a night and did not turn up, the manager rang me and long story short I was not charged the usual cancelation fee. My only complaint about the Bounty is that the internet is too expensive at $24 for 24 hours and it is not even wireless. All in all If you are traveling to Lismore for Business then the Bounty is the place to stay..

This hotel is a joke (DO NOT STAY HERE EVER), the owner is the rudest women i have ever dealt with in my life. No customer services skills what so ever, hotel is awful.

I stayed here for one night on an arranged business trip. The room was large, modern, and very clean, as was the bathroom. There was a strange enclosed balcony that viewed directly on to someone else's balcony. The only fucntion of this outdoor room appreared to be a designated smoking area as there would not be any other reason to use it.
Dinner in the restaurent was good. Breakfast is by room service only, delivered through an old-fashioned hatch.
The room and hotel is quite modern but lacking in atmosphere. It served very well for a business trip but I wouldn't stay here by choice on vacation.

2 nights over the Easter weekend and by far the most expensive on our trip to Australia, we had a week at the Meriton apartments in Sydney and 5 great days at the Mantra Wings apartment at Surfers Paradise by the beach but The Bounty was the most expensive at $235 per night, least appealing for Decor, facilities & Friendliness. It was clean though.

We arrived eight minutes late to check in after noting on the website that we would be able to for a $25 fee. However, when we arrived to check-in the after-hours phone continuously rang out. We tried phoning the line for three hours in between scouting the area for another bed. 1.30am, still no answer. Every other hotel in Lismore was booked so we ended up having to sleep in our 3 door rental car. The next morning the receptionist was very apologetic and explained that the manger was away and that was why the after-hour line was unanswered. She gave us our room and told us the manager would phone us as soon as she came in. She didn’t. That afternoon we went to speak to the manager to find out what happened. We were both stunned by her reaction. She was rude, argumentative, aggressive and clearly didn’t care that we had been forced to sleep in our car because she was unable to find anyone to answer her out-of-hour/security line. She told us in no uncertain terms it was our fault for arriving late (even though it was clearly stated that late check-in was available for a fee, which we were prepared to pay). She refused to give us our money back for the night and instead offered us a free meal!! By far, the worst service we have EVER received. They don’t quite understand what the word “hospitality” means in “hospitality industry”. Poor, poor form.

My recent four-night stay at the Bounty Motel was uniformly excellent. I applaud their policy of no smoking in any of the rooms (smoking on balconies only). My room, a balcony suite, was spacious, spotless and had good lighting. Ditto the bathroom. The attention to detail in the room was most commendable (e.g., good hair dryer, clean cups, quality toilet paper). I was not bothered by traffic noise (as I feared I might be) nor by noise from other residents. The owners and staff were friendly and courteous without being intrusive. I ate there only once (dinner) and had an enjoyable meal (sophisticated by Lismore's standards) and glass of wine. Searching for a negative, the balcony was spacious, with quality table and chairs, but it looked into another part of the hotel only a few feet away and the times I went onto the balcony I was troubled by smoke from people smoking on nearby balconies. If you don't smoke you probably don't need a balcony. I would happily stay there again and have no hesitation in recommending it highly. - jraedler@hotmail.com

  • Liked — No smoking in any of the rooms. Spacious and clean rooms with commendable attention to detail (e.g., good hair dryer, clean cups, quality toilet paper).
  • Disliked — Balcony looked straight into another part of the motel a few feet away.

You can tell Lismore is coming of age when it gets a posh motel! Up until now one didnt have much choice of accommodation in Lismore...it was not great, bad or even worse! Then came the Lismore Bounty Motel.
Actually, forget the concept of a "motel", it is more like a normal hotel. We stayed in a spa room. I couldnt believe the size of the room for the price! The room was large and comfortable (king size bed, plenty of space), the bathroom was massive and the spa probably would have fit a family of 5! (just kidding, but it was big). There was also a seperate shower and the room had a data port for the business travellers.
They even have a posh cafe downstairs and have limited room service.
The property is fairly new and really nice in a convenient CBD location (and the workies club is just a short walk). Forget staying anywhere else in Lismore, try the Bounty Motel. We were very impressed.
