“Lovely refurb but it's still chaos in the car park!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

We stayed over the June long weekend and it was a busy hotel. Check in smooth and the room is nice. But the car park is full of people attending functions or playing golf, so you have to park in the lower car park. There is no valet or anyone organising cars, so people park anywhere, unload bags, people walking between cars ... waiting for a disaster. We ended up lugging our bags ourselves from the bottom car park.
Our room was noisy as it was above the pool area. People using the spa, talking loudly, kids running around the pool and hallways late at night and early morning, shouting.
We have stayed before under old management when it was looking tired. The refurb is lovely. Showers hot, bath nice and deep. We were supplied with one cake of soap which was a bit measly. The doona cover has a chunky stain on it and I'm not a fan of doona covers as they don't get washed often. So that was a bit of an eww moment. Not alot of room to open a suitcase so it would be nice to have a long bench instead of bags on the floor or on one fold out table.
We didn't eat at the hotel as there are lots of lovely and more cost effective options in Leura and surrounds.

Room Tip: Would ask for a room away from the pool area

Stayed here for 1 night in June 2013 with 2 children (ages 2 & 4). Kids play area is excellent, especially as it wasn't the best weather. Indoor pool was a bit tired, but a lovely temperature and the kids loved it. Outdoor pool is not heated and not for the faint hearted in winter but the outdoor spa is great if you are brave enough to venture outside. Buffet breakfast was fine. Didn't have dinner at the resort. Ate at the adjacent golf club which was very average. Room was neat and clean. Parking can be terrible if you don't get a spot in the upper level. Overall, a nice stay and plenty for the kids to do.

Currently here for a work function and can't even get a decent local beer despite numerous requests. Serving crappy Tooheys. Food was also ordinary with dry chicken legs and crunchy risotto.
The view and rooms are otherwise OK.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Fairmont Resort in Leura (Blue Mountains) for three nights for our Wedding Anniversary. We had a wonderful time, the room that was reserved for us, was quiet and comfortable, and had a lovely view of the mountains. We were even treated to a complimentary drink each for our Anniversary, which I thought was such a lovely personal touch, and made us feel very welcome. For this reason alone, I would have no hesitation in returning to the Fairmont, it made us feel very special.

The hotel itself was cosy and quiet.... The foyer and bar area looks like a Swiss Chalet or Ski Lodge, absolutely gorgeous!...And the grounds were so peaceful and restful... And staff were all very pleasant.

The only tiny suggestion I would have, is that the waiters and waitresses be mindful of asking the guests if they have an Accor Advantage Plus card. Our card wasn't swiped a few times, hence we didn't receive our 50% discount on food a few times... It was all OK, as Reception Staff didn't hesitate to correct the oversight, but just thought it would be helpful if the staff could prompt the guest to present the card if they have one.

But our stay was a delight!.... We loved it! and will definitely be back!... We would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice location and environment, good staff always willing to help, good room and good conference facilities. Even the pens were at the Conference from the Hotel were of good quality. The food provided enough variety and were of good taste.

Stayed first night on my own for a conference but booked an extra night on the saturday with my hubby....lovely comfy beds with very nicely appointed amenities, only booked a standard room but still had nice view of the dam, ducks, fish etc....got a little busy in the bar area on the saturday night and staff didn't advise that the restaurant was fully booked so had to taxi it to town for dinner...would definitely recommend this hotel for families even though we dont have any, as the kids facilities were great! All in all very pleased with our stay and the 11am checkout was a nice finish to a lovely couple of days.

The resort is in a beautiful quiet spot! It's full of happy staff that would go out of their way. The pools are great (indoor for winter - outdoor for summer) Had a pleasant stay! Make sure to look at the movie theatre, so good for kids! Would come back!
