“Easy going cafe that reminds you that there is more to cafe's than just great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

Sotos quickly became my coffee shop of choice when holidaying in Forster regularly.
I am sure to visit, for at the very least a coffee everyday.
The outlook of the lake is exceptional, the food is great, the coffee is best I've ever had, and the friendly staff create a real easygoing environment that brings you back time and time again.

“Not quite there....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

It's quiet, there is some comfy lounge style seating and they make ok tea and coffee, which is why I'll often call in for a cuppa. Have tried on a few occasions to eat there, but I don't bother anymore. The menu is small. They have tried to put some creative healthy-ish options on the menu but the flavour combos just are not right, and the ingredients are not prepared/combined in nice ways. They often aren't cooked using healthy methods either, yucky oil etc. nice effort, but not great, just doesn't work. I find the service a bit to casual for my liking also, very lax, so much so that it comes across as rude and unprofessional. They hold special themed dinner nights, haven't tried these menus.

“Go to Sotos for a quick and delicious meal / coffee's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

Have been to Sotos Cafe three times and have at each visit enjoyed my experience there. I have had light meals, patties, salads, sandwiches, coffee's and even a milk shake, all have been served quickly and with good service. The first time I went to this cafe was with my brother who was visiting and a real "coffee buff". We enjoyed the food, coffee that day and since that day have returned solo to experience the good food, good service and the fabulous views.

“Best Breakfast and the BEST COFFEE!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Without a doubt the best coffee I have had in years! Breakfast was fresh and brilliant as well! Small establishment with a great environment and did I mention the coffee?

“Try elsewhere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

The review dated 3rd April accurately describes the Eggs Benny (sic). The sauce was over-rich and really needed to be cut by some vinegar. My Caesar Salad with smoked salmon was most unusual. It's the first I've had, in many, that came with shredded red cabbage. The croutons were stale, no anchovies, and the egg was cut into strips, fried rice style.Only a few small pieces of bacon. The mixture almost swam in dressing. My companions had a steak burger which was described as tougher than shoe leather, however the salmon patties were adequate. The cafe is somewhat tired in appearance, although the view, from the front room, over the water is very nice. Service was attentive and professional. We enjoyed our fresh fruit juices but there must be somewhere better in Forster. How this cafe received the Number 1 ranking on Eatability is a mystery. At $44.00 a double, not good value.
