“Small, crowded, stuffy but food is SPETACULAR!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

When you enter this place you don't believe the food can be THAT GOOD! The place works like a fish market, where you can pick what you want, they charge you by the food's weight and prepared it right away! We got the tuna, scallops, prawns with garlic and a green salad whose name I can't remember, and everything was delicious! If you don't feel that's the right place, like I felt when getting in, trust me, you are in the right place and the food will amaze you!

“Fresh Delicious Fish”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We tried this place out based on the other reviews on Tripadvisor.

All the fish and seafood looked very fresh and appealing. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a piece of barrumundi that was marinated and grilled- it was delicious, although we found it a little expensive for a casual fish and chip shop. You can choose a piece of raw fish and they weigh it for you and you pay by weight. The barrumundi was $55 a kilo- so a small piece of fish cost us $20 then you have to pay for sides e.g. salad was $7, chips, corn etc.

Corkage is free which is a plus.

“Delicious seafood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

Fantastic fish and chips and perhaps the nicest (but also the most expensive) piece of grilled salmon I have ever had. Funky but pricy fish and chips.

“Tasty simple fish dishes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013 via mobile

If it wasn't for trip advisor's good reviews we probably would not end up going there as it did not look appealing. We couldn't be any more wrong. The food was very fresh and tasty and perfect to have a lunch in Coogee. In case you want to drink some wine or beers you have to bring your own, but there is no corkage charge.

“Tasty but small portions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

If you're from NZ, you're used to having at least 2 or 3 fish for $10. Here it was a single fish which was a bit disappointing. We didn't get any more fish and chips after this, so I'm not sure how that compares to other Australian restaurants, but compared to what you get in NZ for that price, it was disappointing.
