“A welcome retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

I was checked in by Chloe who, although busy, was efficient and very welcoming. As a Priority Club member I was upgraded to a lovely pool & ocean view room. The room was spacious, clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. I loved the balcony overlooking the ocean and it was lovely to sit and have a morning coffee in the fresh air with the magnificent view.

I had an appointment in Sydney and it was such a pleasure to drive the 20mins from the city to Coogee, I felt like I was on a relaxing holiday. A short stroll to many cafes along the waterfront was a huge plus.

I enjoyed the location so much, I've booked again for next month.

Dear lindat44

Thank you for choosing to stay at Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach. It really is a great alternative to a CBD hotel and only just 20 minutes drive away. Make sure for your next stay that you make time for the ‘Coastal Walk’, a great way to start the day by walking along the coast towards Bondi.

We look forward to seeing you in March.

Kind regards

We've stayed at the Crowne Plaza before (we're fans of ICH hotels) and were welcomed back like long lost cousins. Our room was great - a good size, with a wide balcony overlooking Coogee beach, a separate area for just relaxing and, of great importance, windows that could be opened to let in the fresh sea air. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and in broad terms everything "upstairs" was excellent.
Unfortunately, though, I have to say that our dinner in the restaurant could have been better.... indeed it ought to have been MUCH better. A steak ordered rare was well-done, grilled prawns were tough. Breakfast, however, was excellent.
At checkout life was a little hectic, because there were two football teams trying to check out at the same time. The hotel is host to a number of sporting organisations, but this doesn't impact on the enjoyment of other guests. Nonetheless we didn't have to wait long. Asked about the extent to which we enjoyed our stay, I gave compliments about the room and mentioned the poor standard of the restaurant the previous evening. It was then that I realised that I was actually speaking to the food and beverage manager, who had pitched in to help at reception. I hope my message got through.
In brief, a great place to stay, but there are plenty of better, cheaper options to eat along Coogee Bay Road.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a beach view - it's worth it. The cheaper rooms look back into the side street...

Crowne Plaza Hotel at Coogee Beach is one of my favourite places to stay. It is situated on the hillside overlooking Coogee Beach and has magnificent view of the beach and ocean. Sitting on the balcony outside my room sipping champagne and watching the waves roll in is just relaxing. You can feel the cool ocean breeze on a hot sunny day. There are many restaurants and a variety of eating places nearby as well as the superb food served at Crowne Plaza's own reataurant. Their menu is delicious. I loved their seafood buffets the best serving mouthwatering fresh seafood. I never get sick of staying at the Crowne Plaza Coogee. Everything is within walking distance. The only negative thing I have to say is the steep walk up the hill to the hotel. My legs aren't what they used to be.

Room Tip: Choose a room with water views so you can enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the shore at nigh...

Thank you for choosing to stay with us again. You certainly can feel like a world away from the city when you’re sitting on a balcony sipping champagne at Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach!
I’m not sure what we can do about the hill but we look forward to welcoming you back next time you visit.

The front desk was very friendly and helpful. I only stayed one night, however the staff allowed me to check in a little early and check out late. The breakfast buffet was very good. The beach is right across the street. The room had an excellent view of the beach. You are about 30 minutes from downtown Sydney. The cab fare is about $30-$40.to the Sydney Opera house. There is a shuttle to the Sydney airport avaiable at a savings. Just ask the front desk.

Dear Pomkow

Thank you for your review and most especially for the acknowledgment of my colleagues. Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach is a great choice even for just the one night. The hotel is located close to the airport and an easy taxi ride to the city and we have the added advantage of a great beach right across the street.

Hope to see you again when you next travel to Sydney.

We spent the long weekend at the hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful we had an ocean view room which was a very good size overlooking the ocean. The room was very clean good beds and a great view which for $340 per night you would expect, we did feel that the hotel prices were very high considering what was offered I would suggest that you change the shower heads to be more water saving as you suggest that you are environmentally friends asking guest to consider not changeling their breeding every day . We were very unhappy at being charged $25.00 for parking after spending $340 on the room .we ate at the Blue Salt restaurant the food was very good quality but the menu could be a little more imaginative the general ambiance of the room leaves a lot to be desired. We would stay again but I think the hotel needs to look at the parking fee for guests as$25 is a little bit over the top

Thank you for reviewing Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach after you recent stay. We appreciate your feedback and will certainly consider all of the points that you have raised above. The shower heads are being considered along with a number of additional suggestions that will help us to continue to reduce our energy usage each year. Our menus are also about to be changed and feedback is vitally important during this time.

Thank you again and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

We are a family of 5 touring oz , we experienced the best service here out of all the hotels on our travels, from the porter to the reception to the wait staff all were so friendly and accommodating, well beyond what one expects generally.
when you come across this you must shout about it as it is rare enough
We had interconnecting rooms facing the beach.

Room Tip: all the rooms looking out onto the beach are best

I visit Sydney quite often & have a choice of any hotel but I keep coming back to the Crowne Plaza in Coogee Beach. The rooms are large & views spectacular. The service is very good. Loads of eateries around, we ate at a different venue every night. The transport is very close by & Bondi shopping Centre has a great range of stores. The staff are brilliant & always go out of their way to assist. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: Easy transport to shopping centres.
