“Poor Quality for Quest”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012 via mobile

I am a regular user of the Quest brand and have reasonably high standards when staying at their properties. Quest Dandenong was amongst the lowest quality Quest properties I have stayed at. It is in a good central location and the rooms are quite spacious however the noise can be a problem, the Carpark is less than secure and the room cleanliness was an issue. I constantly felt dirty in this apartment and it wasn't pleasant going to bed. The property is quite dated also and due for a renovation to bring it up to standard with what people come to expect from Quest. To the properties credit when I expressed my concerns on their feedback forms the manager was promptly in contact with me to offer a half priced stay next time to give them another go which I thought was excellent.
Overall, if you have a limited budget and must stay in Dandenong this place is probably the best of a bad bunch.

Thank you for your review Mr Cross.

We sincerely apologize that you did not enjoy your stay with us here at Quest Dandenong in July 2010, two years ago.

Being that we are located on the corner of a main road, you will find that at times there is reasonable traffic disturbance but this should not have been detrimental to your stay as the apartment you stayed in is located on the inner part of the building and away from the road.

As for cleanliness of our apartments we assure you that our housekeeping staff do their very best to keep the quality of the Quest brand true to its word.

Regards,
Management

We spent two nights at this hotel. We chose a two-bedroom apartment as our two children were also traveling with us. The apartment was clean and well-presented. The location was a great plus as it is close to several major shopping centers. On the down side, we had trouble sleeping as we could hear the noice of road traffic. We were also disappointed that we were not given a late check out when asked.

This is our second visit to The Quest Dandenong,
The self contained Apartments are Perfect for us. Clean and Roomy (enough for us) and having the Kitchen and small Table as well as having a descent size sitting area made our stay more relaxed, the ensuite was very clean and the Bed was very comfortable (for us),
The Staff were very Helpful and always Friendly.
I lost our room key and was extremely worried about getting back into our room at 1am and the cost of losing the key (see book in room with price), we called the Emergency number (as the Reception is only open at certain times) The guy who answered was Extremely helpful and friendly, I was expecting abuse at that time of night. He gave us the spare key so we could access our room. We found the key the next day (luckily for Me). We also had trouble closing our bathroom door and within that day it was fixed.
The only Negative things we have about the Quest was the Reception times (especially on Sunday), The expensive WIFI (which we didn't use) and the place is just starting to look a bit worn (the bathroom door frame in our room was cracking) and the place needs a good Dust, especially the stair hand rail and Pool needs cleaning, I also found the walls very Thin and you could hear everyone as you walked pass their rooms.
But those things were hardly worth mentioning, for us the Quest is the only place we will stay when we are in the Dandenong area.
to sum up - Good Friendly Service, Clean room, Free Parking and close to 24 hour supermarket and The Eastlink.

Room Tip: Some rooms windows open onto Princes Highway and could be too noisy for some travellers, others open...

We stayed here for ten days when my brother was in hospital nearby and then while he was recuperating. It was in a good location for the hospital and close to a supermarket and mall. The rooms were large, spotless and well-equipped, with comfortable beds and the two bedroomed apartment even had two bathrooms. The staff could not have been more helpful, allowing us to change our bookings at short notice, stay in the same room and making bookings for us at a Quest motel in Melbourne. Although the motel is just off a busy road, the rooms were quite quiet and you can enjoy the swimming pool set in pleasant garden surroundings. Dandenong calls itself the 'multicultural capital of Victoria' and the city is a bit scruffy, but if you have to be in this area, you can do no better than stay at the Quest!

We were pleasantly surprised with The Quest, after having a bad experience at a hotel down the road last time we visited Melbourne.
The location was great for us as we wanted to be based around Dandeong and with the Eastlink 5mins down the road was able to access other suburbs quickly.

The serviced apartments gave us freedom with a kitchenette and sitting area as well as a clean roomy ensuite and a very comfortable bed, yet there are the cleaners who keep you stocked in fresh towels and linnen. The staff at The Quest are extremely friendly and helpful (a special thanks to Jess and Chris).

There is no lift - but there is only 1 small flight of stairs and you do have a choice of ground level apartments. There is a pool area which looked nice from inside while it was raining. I'm not sure about the public transport in the area as we had a hire car, (there is a parking area for guests - just watch the front of your car when leaving), there is no restuarant but you have your own kitchenette.

We will definately be returning
