“Welcoming atmosphere and tasty food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013 via mobile

We stopped by the Beeswing for some dinner on Sunday. We received a really warm welcome before sitting down to look at the menu, I had the beef and my wife tried the roast ham. Both cuts of meat were beautiful and the portions were great; puddings were delicious too - I can highly recommend the cheesecake! Staff were polite and attentive, couldn't fault it really. We happily stayed for a few drinks while our lunches settled, overall a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and we will definitely be returning to sample more of the menu.

Worth a visit by all accounts!

“New owners very friendly, food and atmosphere could be better!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

We visited the Beeswing a few weeks ago. Having read a couple of reviews on here, we thought we'd give it a go. The new owners seemed very nice and friendly however the place itself seemed a bit drab and empty. The menu seemed pretty good - standard pub grub (about £8-£10 average) but again we were a bit disappointed when it arrived. We ordered steak pies and game casserole, the pie was described as "steak with mushrooms and onions" what we actually got was a few bits of steak, one mushroom and one pickled onion? The game casserole looked more like a white meat curry served with a handful of roast potatoes... The veg we got with the pies was also served on the plate and looked a bit old, it always seemed nicer when served separately and not pot luck with what you get on each plate.
We were tempted by the choice of desserts and had a cheesecake and chocolate truffle, both of which were lovely. A few years ago now this was a lovely and very popular country pub, with a great atmosphere and fab food. It would be great to get back to the way it was and I wish the new owners the best of luck. My other half would also like to request that Chicken Parmo is put back on the menu please :)

“Friendly staff, clean tidy and great country atmosphere.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

Food excellent hot and reasonably priced. Large drinks list that will cater for any taste. Landlady was welcoming and friendly. Compliments passed to the chef for very tasty food. Other customers added to the charm and atmosphere making for a lovely evening. I would highly recommend a visit and will be back there soon myself. Thank You Beeswing and Staff.

“A Good start”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

The Beeswing has recently got new management which can only hopefully be a good thing as front of house before was sadly lacking. Anyhow we went in for Sunday lunch and were pleasantly surprised. menu was plain and simple but the landlady explained that a more comprehensive was coming shortly. The food we had was plentiful and tasty, beautiful veg and the plates were so hot you couldn't touch them. Service was excellent and staff were very friendly and time for a chat. Two courses with drinks came to £47.
No card machine as yet so make sure you have cash.
A promising start, we shall go again, the village, hopefully, has got it's pub back.
