When we checked in we asked about the swimming pool and we were told it was closed in winter, even though it was Spring and the pool was indoors. We were told to park our caravans (There were 3 families) on the lawn. The grass was so overgrown and there were weeds everywhere. There was no playground, even though they advertise one and there was just a basketball back board with no hoop on it and it was amongst some huge overgrown weeds. The BBQ area had a strong gas leak and one shower had no hot water at all, so I tried the next shower and that had good hot water pressure. The park is so runned down and all the plants and grass are overgrown, it's a wonder they don't just shut the place down because it looks like it's already shut down. We had a good laugh about how dodgy it was but no one is keen to go back to Port Pirie!

Well, upon arrival we were somewhat dismayed to see that the units were in poor state of repair and lined up along the front of the property.
We went into reception to be greeted abruptly. We had booked in advance and at the time requested bedding and towels to be supplied. These were not forthcoming. When we requested the bedding and towels we were given some very old and worn out supplies. To be honest, when mine reach this state they are put in the shed as dust sheets!!! The Lady then handed us a key saying "you will need this too!" We asked, "What for as you have already given us the key to the unit?" The Lady replied "for the bedding that is locked away in the top cupboard in the bedroom" or words to that effect.
We went around to the unit and my husband who went in first said, "if you are not expecting much then you won't be disappointed!"
When booking the man who took my call said that the units were furnished with everything like we would have at home. Well, this is just an insult to anyone's home.
The furniture was worn out. The air conditioner was so old and noisy there was no way it could be left on during the night if required.
There were cobwebs around the unit so it had obviously not been cleaned recently.
We opened the cupboard above the wardrobe int eh bedroom to discover some equally worn out blankets, etc which we obviously had to use as we didn't have our own bedding with us.
The walls were paper thin - we could hear every movement from next door.
As for the name of the place "Hillsview" - well where were the hills?
We will not be staying there again nor recommending it to any one.
