My family of 5 had a great stay at the Peninsula. The apartment was very clean with modern, comfortable, furniture and a great view of the harbor. John and Sandy were great hosts and very helpful (not the least with finding a router). We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in a two bedroom appartment on the first floor with uninterupted views of able point marina. The appartment was fitted out with everthing you need. Staff were friendly. Location great (close to everything, only a few minutes drive either to airlie or cannonvale), walks along the boardwalk to cannonvale or into airlie were lovely (about 30 mins, you enter the boardwalk from near the front gate).
The only dissapointment, and it was a big one, was the appartment was NOT entirely clean, especially the kitchen (quite dirty, i did mention the nasty pong coming from the insinkerator but any attempt staff made did not get it clean), laundry not cleaned, the bathrooms were mostly ok, so a trip to buy cleaning supplies and an hour or so later we had the place sorted (not what i had in mind for the start of my trip but it needed to be done so we could then enjoy our stay!). The linen and towels were all clean, as were the furnishings and floors.
You have very easy access to barrier reef tours and ferrys being only a few minutes walk away, you can watch the comings and goings of the ferry services and boats from the balcony.
Cars are parked in the underground car park via security gates which all worked well.
Would have rated 5 if the appartment was properly cleaned throughout.

We stayed 3 nights at this apartment prior to a trip sailing in the Whitsundays, and I am pleased we paid the little extra as the location was brilliant, it is about a mile away from the main street in Airlie which is full of gift shops and loud bars (great if you want that but not if you prefer pleasant quiet places to stay). It is also not up a hill (most of the accomadation in Airlie is built into the hills which are very steep). From the Peninsula there is a level walk around the seashore to Airlie. The appartment itself was five star, it was also clean and well equipped with a ice makers, able rooms and seating and a washing machine and dryer, perfect for when you have been travelling for two weeks. The balcony was a delight it had 2 sun loungers and a large table and six chairs, so breakfast and dinner were spent there overlooking the marina. It also had a small pool which was very pleasant and quite.

Have recomended to friends already.
