“Quite Location - but a little tired”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

We stayed in an En-suite powered site for two nights. The en-suite was clean and tidy with hand towels included. There was no division between the sites (ie trees/screens) but the site came with concrete runners for the wheels and pad for sitting outside. The general nature of the park looked a bit tired in terms of the general roading and gardens. It was a pleasant stay - but not quite the level I expect from BIG4.

We've stayed here for a few days with a campervan. It's a great park with good BBQ and other facilities. We've loved the free morning bird feeding. Dozens of parrot like birds (forgot what they are called) fly around and eat the food out of your hand. What really set this stay apart from the rest was the staff though. We were having some major issues with a cruise booking that went wrong that was booked by another agency and had nothing to do with the park. The staff helped us out tremendously eventhough there was nothing in it for them. We can't thank Jodie enough for that and saved our, what otherwise would have been a horrible airlie and Whitsunday experience, holiday. She is a real darling!

A lot of refurbishment seems to have recently been done here and the shower specifically was great. The sleeper couch looks a bit tired, but the cabin itself is nice and spacious. The resort itself seems nice and popular and there are several families and young children around.

From the time I called Airlie Cove I was impressed with their service. We booked the cabin for 3 days and in that time went for a Fantasea Reefsleep. The cabin was tucked away, was peaceful and certainly had everything we needed. The office lady was so delightful and helpful. Great pool for our little man to enjoy, great BBQ area and I always feel you can tell a holiday park by the state of the toilets/laundry area - this one was A+++. Short walk (10mins) down the road to IGA, bus stop right out the front going back into Airlie or to Shuteharbour. Would definately recommend this park and we do hope we can get back up there again for more awesome experiences. Thank you Airlie Cove for a lovely stay.

Just returned home to the GC after a fantastic stay in Airlie Beach.
I stayed in an ensuite cabin for 4 nights and was very happy with the facilities.
The park is situated 2 mins drive out of town, on the way to Shute harbour.
We found it to be a peaceful and pretty site, relatively well maintained (after some bad weather events) with extremely helpful and happy staff-great girls!
The accommodation was clean, the aircon worked very well. The only complaint being the gas hot water service which was inconsistent. I was informed they were due to replace the units shortly.
We also received a good discount for staying for the 4 nights which made it very good value.
Thanks and see you next time!

Our opinion of Airlie Cove started on a high note when we had our removalists stuff us around during our move from Melbourne to Townsville by changing the dates, we had already booked at Airlie Cove but couldn't stay, I was told not to worry they would just keep the booking and payment in their system until we were ready to stay. So full marks for that flexibility!!

So we decided to come down for a long weekend for partner's birthday. I also decided to upgrade to a Bali Villa (which they had at the time a stay 3 nights pay for 2 deal, plus I get Big4 discount as a member). Fantastic reception on arrival, very helpful and friendly. Everything explained fully. Then we got to the villa - well! It looked like something on an island resort and was only slightly smaller than my last residential flat! Nice touch to have fans and air conditioning on for our arrival too. Huge lounge dining, full kitchen, 1 bedroom with queen bed and bathroom access, second bedroom with 4 bunks. Full bathroom with huge shower and toilet plus another separate toilet. Huge full length, completely private deck surrounded by lush landscaping.CRT TV with a set top box was a bit retro though!! But we hardly watched any TV so that didn't matter.

The park backs on to bushland and is so amazingly quiet, birds and insects the only noise. Very good sized lagoon style pool with shading, a waterslide and a spa; lovely clean BBQ areas and camp kitchens. Tennis court also available.Tour and cruise booking service at reception (we booked our cruise at 5pm the night before we went and was no problem). Basic kiosk type shop, milk, soft drinks, ice creams, bread etc plus grocery items. Full range of accommodation from various types of villas and cabins to powered sites.

Although it is a little out of town it just means it is quieter. The bus to Airlie Beach stops outside the front gate, you can drive in only about 4 minutes, taxi to the Airlie Beach shops is about $11, or they have scooters for hire. There is also an IGA supermarket and bottle shop about 1 minutes drive away ( we were too lazy to walk!)

We honestly cannot fault our time here and highly recommend the Airlie Cove Resort.

Highly recommend the Big Fury Full Day Cruise and Fish D'vine Restaurant while you're in Airlie Beach as well.

Room Tip: Bali Villas are stunning

My partner and i decided to stay in a studio ensuite cabin at Airlie Cove Resort. It was our last night in Airlie and we'd been staying at a five star resort. We paid a very reasonable fee for our last night so were eager to see what we get for our money. A five min drive from the main drag, we arrived to a tree filled quiet friendly park. The staff were highly professional but so laid back and helpful. The cabin was immaculately clean and was full of character and very cute. Their pool is large and lovely and the overall vibe was very peaceful. You get the impression you're miles away from any town centre. Next time i will stay for at least 3-4 nights and make use of their outdoor kitchen. Thanks Airlie Cove, what a pleasent budget suprise you turned out to be. See you next time:)
