“Biggest Oysters I have Ever seen!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

Went to dinner with my partner and we ordered oysters to start with, they were absolutely humongous! Even the staff were amazed at the size! Amazing views in Coral sea especially if you go there for lunch! Staff are always friendly and food is always good!

I used this hotel for a recent writers festival. All participants were amazed by the wonderful views and the pool. The staff could not do enough for us, making sure that everyone could enjoy the views by placing chairs opposite the windows. Dinner was on par with some of the best restaurants anywhere in the world. I will certainly be using this hotel to do the next writers festival. The manager deserves a big thank you for his enthusiasm.

Room Tip: I believe all rooms have stunning sea views.

Loved everything about this resort, super comfy bed, open plan, amazing views, impeccable service.
We stayed here only one night, but left wanting more. We were going to book a garden view room after being allowed to take a walk down by the poolside bar and scope the view we had to gladly pay extra for the view which is well worth it.
Our room was clean and fantastic, the slat wall between the bedroom and the bathroom was was a little interesting to begin with but not a hassle.
The restaurant had unusual selections, but fantastic food so step out of the box when ordering its great. And your sitting poolside looking over the ocean, doesn't get much better.
The service at dinner was pricey, but I felt the staff earned ever dollar. The table beside us had a small child, who was a little unsettled and they kept apologizing to us about the noise even though we didn't mind, kids are kids.. But what was impressive was a staff member came to their table and offered, and took the child for a walk in the push hair for a good 20 minutes or so allowing them to enjoy their meal in peace for a moment.. I thought was was very impressive.
Overall we will be back to this resort many times. Pay for the View it's worth it.. Love this place

While not plush the rooms are comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found our accommodation to be clean and the staff friendly. The room had a couple of quirks though, the t.v. is in a bizarre place, under the window and not in a position to be viewed and the window has venetian blinds that allow light and day light through rather than block out cutains that are required in any 3* motel.
Breakfast is adequate, though not extensive, a continental is included in the tarrif, with a hot dish $12 extra. I particularly liked the cappuccino machine.
The hotel is a short distance from the main restaurant/shopping area although as the views are to die for we were not fussed about leaving the property.

Room Tip: Request a Coral Sea Room as the views are stunning

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was more than adequate for our family's needs and the view was amazing The hotel is lovely and so are the staff. Food is expensive in the hotel and Airlie Beach. The small supermarket doesn't have a lot of choices . We stayed for a week and rented a car for the last couple of days which we were quite pleased to get by then as Airlie Beach is very much a tourist town and though there was some cheap options it is still expensive to feed a family . We found Bowen a nice place to take a day trip to . The GBR is a wonderful place and should be seen if you are in that area though again not a cheap outing. Thankyou Coral Sea Resort for a lovely holiday!

Have stayed at this establishment several times and experience is the same each time.
The location is excellent for those staying at airlie for a few days, probably worth a premium for the view, but certainley not 5 star, which is what you would expect for the price. The rooms are good, the restuarant is not.Don't bother with the breakfast. Pretty ordinary.
I would rate it below average both in staff and quality of food. I think I will fnd somewhere else to stay in the future

Thank you for your comments. The complimentary continental breakfast can be upgraded to an a la carte selection. Breakfast is not included in the room rate in any other Airlie beach Hotel. You are welcome to contact me directly to advise your thoughts on how we can improve the selection offered.
