“A must do in the Whitsundays!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

I spent an unforgettable day on the Derwent Hunter!
The boat is fantastic and you will be charmed by its long history and elegance. The itinerary we took was really relevant. We had the time to appreciate the beauty of the islands around and to meet whales and calfs on the way. The spots chosen for snorkelling were beautiful and very surprising. We got a chance to swim among colourful fishes and coral, and even turtles.
The crew was the best I met during my trip on the Whitsundays. In addition to their kindness and their humour, they were very knowledgeable and we learned many things about the region. I almost forgot the most important, the chocolate cake and food on board was excellent :)

“Amazing, informative and fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012 via mobile

If you want a great day out in the Whitsundays, this is a must. With amazing fresh food that seems to flow all day, to beautiful coral snorkeling. We were lucky enough to see Turtles, Dolphins and Whales. The Girl crew were inspiring with their knowledge of the sea and their incredible fitness. On this trip you can sit back and enjoy or get stuck in hoisting sails.
We will definately do this again.

“One NOT to be missed.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

The Derwent Hunter was recommended to us by word of mouth......and we were not disappointed.

Without doubt, our day on the Derwent Hunter was one of the highlights of our week in the Whitsundays.

We were a little nervous that it could have been a bit tedious.....but we could not have been more wrong.

The crew were great. Very informative, taking time to explain the history of the boat and the sea life that we saw while snorkelling etc.

The food was top notch. We got morning tea with cake, a great lunch with a lovely variety of salads, and afternoon snacks on the way back to port.

We had 2 young kids with us (age 4 and 7), and they were more than welcomed onboard. In fact, they spent a couple of hours in the wheelroom with the skipper, Dave, and he was great with them.

Could not recommend this more highly. Good value too for a family of 4.

“Do yourself a favour!”

Wow what a great day we had!
The crew are fantastic the trip was unforgetable and the snorkelling was premium and the food on board was delectable!
I would recommend everyone who goes to Airlie Beach to go on this trip.
It was very romantic as well with the sails and the breeze blowing on face.

“Sail the islands in classic style...even with young kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012 via mobile

Stunning day sailing the islands on a real tall ship. Couldn't be better. Deserted islands, whales, turtles.....adventures the young kids will never forget....neither will we. Can get a bit cool when under sail but our 3 year old still managed to sleep for an hour on the way there and back. Great sailing team, refreshments and tucker. Highlight of the holiday. 5 yr old son will never be the same again.....
