“Not a top notch steak house”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Was referred to this place from a tour operator that we spent time with in the afternoon. Took his advice to visit KC's for a great steak (and 10% off based on the tour we did) and live music and was disappointed. Steak was cooked how I asked (thanks) however average flavour - had to drown in salt. Vegies were boiled and bland. We sat around for ages waiting for the muso to arrive and he didn't so we took off.

Service was good from no doubt backpacker staff who made an effort to look after us.

Unfortunately, there were some (as we learnt the term) 'grotty yatchties' who came into port and headed to KCs to get smashed. Very loud and obnoxious and one bloke (not sure if with them or not) dropped the F & C to the chef and wanted to 'take him outside'. It was obvious this bloke was pickled and no fault of the chef to our knowledge. He was asked to leave and our waiter apologised to us for the hassle. I doubt this is a regular thing but not an ideal way to spend an evening with the Mrs. Made an effort not to go back (even when we heard music a few nights later).

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

On our trip back to airlie this year our first night out fro a meal was here. We had been to this place many times before and every time we go we have a steak. AS per usual you can not fault there steaks . The meal was excellent.

“OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

It was fine. Food was tasty but fairly overpriced. Service took just over 1 hour which I would consider slow.

There are better options around town.

“Wings but no buffalo”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

On a visit to Airlle we were recommended to have dinner at this place if we just wanted a good honest meal at a fair price.(pub food) So with no high expectation we did and boy were so wrong. The food we received was close to the worst meals we ever had and at over a hundred dollars for two meals and a few drinks it was far from cheap. I order the buffalo wing that turned out to be boil chicken wings that still had some of the feathers on them. My wife order just a medium steak which was black and tough as boot leather. Needless to said we will never go back and how this place has stayed open for so long has me baffled

“Airlie Beach Icon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

Icon may be over done but when a place has been there for as long as KC's it is appropriate. Always and still a great place for a steak off the grill, time with friends over a drink and live music till late. Or enjoy lunch watching the passing parade of main street Airlie.
