We too could write a really negative review and I was initially going to give the tour a 3 rating BUT the owner Nick turned the situation around by his efforts to accomodate us and that is phenomenal in a world where customer service has started to disappear.
I had planned and booked 2 months ahead. I studied the reviews and emailed the company and was convinced that they were the right choice. We were picked up on time by a great driver, made us laugh with his stories though his driving was a little crazy. Anyhow we made it one piece to our destination, which was at Montes Reef Resort at GLORIOUS Hydeaway Bay. What a beach, what a location, what a hidden secret. A good start!
The bathrooms we were using to change in and shower in at the conclusion were awful, but that wasn't the end of the world.
THE VERY GOOD
The lunch - simply amazing.
The location - simply breathtaking.
The hammock I laid in after lunch - bliss!
THE NOT SO GOOD
That Nick tried to reschedule us a couple of times before the date of the tour, and was evasive as to why, we were given many reasons but never what we thought to be the truth.
We were virgin jetskiiers and particularly nervous, and this tour was probably not ideal for nervous beginners like us.
The jetski broke down. Conked out while we were travelling 60km/h. Ahhhh, that was why they were trying to reschedule us. Now it makes sense. The tour guide handled it well, but we would have preferred honesty from the outset.
Everyone was travelling fast and we were compelled to keep up but didn't enjoy the ride as a result.
The scenery was repetitive and a little boring.
I lost my favourite hat. I was warned not to take sunglasses on the ski but no one mentioned hats. I wish they had. I am still trying to find a nice replacement.
The showers were awfully old, and looked dirty.
The last couple kms to and from the resrt were BUMPY!
We were told we didn't have to bring a camera, and pics were taken and posted on facebook, but i would have taken so many photos on the beach if I had my camera and I don't have any photos of what was one of my favourite beaches :(
we also spoke with Nick the owner the next day and he went out of his way to apologise and he won us over. Even with the problems we had, we also sincerley believe that this is a good company and a good operator.
THE IMPORTANT QN - WOULD WE RETURN???
Definitely. We now know what to expect and assuming everything went smoothly, we would definitely give it another go. And it was all because of the service and efforts Nick went to to rectify an unfortunate set of circumstances.
