“Fantastic food,great service, beautiful views.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014 via mobile

I visited palm cove recently and went for dinner twice at casmar. The first time I had the lamb rack, which was divine and very reasonably priced for the size of the meal. The service and atmosphere were fantastic and relaxed. Which is why I went back and tried the veal!
The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Congratulations to the new owner "Mon" and thank you to all the staff.

“VERY AVERAGE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

Thought I would give the new owners a go.. But to be honest I won't be hurrying back.
Firstly the tables were very close together and when seated it was very squishy. My friend had to get out of her seat for the table next to us to be seated. I'm not sure where they are going with the menu but the meals were very small and bland, my prawns were over cooked. It definitely isn't the same without the sisters. Does anyone know if they have a new restaurant?

“New owners. Same old.Same old.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

Have been going to Casmar for many years, through about four or five different managements. This new one is a bit different - reduced menu for one. But the problem is still the same - not enough customers. This leads firstly to a lack of ambience and secondly to economising on the food (quality) and bumping up the drink prices. It's a catch 22. The location is still great, as always. The service was excellant. The food was OK. The prices were reasonable, but XXXX GOLD at $6.50 is a bit rich. We appreciate the 10% locals discount but that's not the only reason we will be back to try it again. The place needs a lot of local custom, particularly larger groups, which could be easily catered for. Vive Le Casmar !

“New owners, new decore and a new (fantastic) menue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

Lunch on Sunday was a very pleasant surprise, we were taking in the sights of Palm Cove and decided to have lunch at the recently re-opened Casmar. What a delight, a truely romantic setting with beautiful ocean views from the balcony. the menu was not overly large but the choices so good it simply means that we will have to go back, just brilliant. the food was excellent and Adan the new owner very attentive to our needs. I highly recommend a visit, and for wine lovers some of the best wines on offer. .

“Beautiful view with lovely menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013 via mobile

While talking to the staff we found that the restaurant had recently taken over by new ownership. The veranda has a lovely view which doesn't get the cars driving past like many of the other restaurants on the esplanade. The menu was varied to suit different tastes and the dishes that we had were well balanced and nicely presented. The decor was simple but nice and the collection of local art work was a lovely touch. It had a fantastic selection if beers and wines and the staff seemed very happy and relaxed.
